Comment on: Conservative Sense

Health Insurance is Failed Socialism

I agree completely

Catastrophic insurance, yes. But other than that, pay as you go.

One time when I was not on an insurance plan through my work, I started shopping around for prescription prices. To my amazement the providers were competeting for my business and I was able to barter. Also, some prescriptions were less than my deductible on a plan.

One wonders...

how we survived all these alleged millenia without insurance, or the liberal elite to tell us about it???

If you...

keep talking sense, you will be the one locked up in the nut house.

Thanks James

There are days I feel I am not far from that at all.

The only positive I see...

..is Arnold's idea will hopefully draw all illegal aliens to California.

Scottie, over at "Heartland Patriot," reminds Us of the the theory,"Tragedy of the Commons."

But

Mit Romney want to force every American into the same failed system.

That's the reform needed

Just read your article. Good stuff. I think the essence is encapsulated in your quote:
"This one fact, that the insured can use the insurance pretty much at their discretion, as opposed, let's say, to car insurance which requires an accident, and if you do that intentionally it is called insurance fraud, means that once you have insurance you are going to use it, and as much as possible."
Health insurance would work great... if it was used as insurance. I posted an article on this subject comparing it to car insurance. You don't pay the auto insurance to fill up your tank with a $5 copay. You do it in case you rear end a luxury car on your way to the grocery store.
The flaw isn't with health insurance per se, it is the fact that nobody uses it as such. Its truly a third payer, socialist system. Any wonder that attempts to de-regulate the insurance market, or allow great consumer choice are opposed by liberals? A communist by any other name...

what about the Ins CEO who made $50Mill?

Are you saying the only problem is utilization? Utilization is not a primary drive. Greed is. How about T Geiser, of UniCare Health, who was paid $50 Million in one year? source http://www.InsCEO.com

Wake up and smell the $6,000 shower curtain.

Happyhappy

Like all willfully blind Liberals, you ignore the fact that there is no market mechanism to control the ridiculous costs you rightfully point out because "insurance" is just socialism, with all the inefficiencies and drawbacks inherent in that system. Health insurance is the problem, not the solution!
