The War Hero, or Make Mine a Hoagie

I agree. There are some real heroes of the Viet Nam era who never returned and there are many who never got their names mentioned because they were not sons of famous men. Having a number of planes shot out from under you, as John McCain is reported to have had happen, means that you were only careless with your military equipment.

As far as serving time in the Hanoi Hilton, so did many others, but they are not running for president and as a result are not refered to as heroes, and rightfully so. Some may have been, but John McCain is not one of them. I respect his service to the country, but I can't see where he was a hero.
