Comment on: Right-wing Trophy Wife

I live in NJ

As a husband of a trophy wife.

I am sure you mean that tongue and check as I do, although she is gorgeous and the love of my life, since I was 18 and she was 15. I am now 62.

We did the opposite of you we fled Taxachusetts 24 years ago, more for the lifestyle in Maine, where flying the American flag isn't a oddity. In fact all the downtown areas have a flag on every telephone pole. Maine is a tough place to make a living but we have done quite well and now retired and you can't blast us out of where we have lived for the past quarter of a century. So sometimes a move isn't so bad. Although our families are in Mass we didn't or I didn't have any strong attachment to the area. It took my wife about 15 years to adjust but now she sees the wisdom in the move and loves the place as much or more than I do. My daughter on the other hand moved back to Mass, why I ask, but it is her life, we have to give her free will, almost 40 now, wow time flies.

I am new to blogging myself but have made some nice friends and it is a good thing. Check out mine and see how we may differ or share some common ground.

Enjoy your stay.

Ann sure is a lightning rod

I am always over, need to break this into two posts.

Her latest magnet for controversy is another joke. I am Jewish and this isn't something new, it has been projected by religious leaders for as long as I can remember. Ann just has the guts or is oblivious to social graces and says it in all the wrong places. I didn’t find it offensive, certainly no where near Jesse Jackson’s gutter religion comment. I don’t have much to do with my ever so liberal family, who are probably outraged, but I guess that is why we don’t talk about these things. I haven’t read Ann’s new book, but will be getting it, I get every book I can get on Presidents, congress Supreme Court, Civil War, politics....you get the picture. My library is better than any public library in our area, which is a shame, I offered to volunteer at our local library and they said that is nice, we are fine. I couldn’t figure out what that was about, power I would assume, even at this tiny level.

I got Clarence Thomas’ book last night, suppose to be the best Biography since Grand and Nixon. Which is a funny story, or not so funny. Hugh Hewitt who is the managing editor of Townhall.com did review sort of on CT’s book and mentioned that it was as good as the aforementioned biographies. I emailed him to find out which books exactly he was referring to so I could buy them, he got back quickly with basically the same information glorified the books a little more but didn’t give titles or authors. I sent him two hits one of bios on Grant and one on Nixon at Amazon.com and asked him to identify the exact books, to which I never got a reply. My conclusion is that he never read them and from the quality of the review he may not have read CT’s book either. A little like Rush’s phony soldier a phony journalist, I am a aghast. The next time he writes on Townhall.com, I am sure to mention it in a comment, and hope he doesn’t cancel my account. Two recent releases that I like are Laura Ingraham’s “Power to the People” and Norman Podizhts(sp I am took lazy to go get it) “World War IV”. Another fascinating book about how our government should be run, is “A team of Rivals” Doris Goodwin, but be careful any of this books are hard to put down.
