Too true. America is probably beset by several cuckoos these days.

This is almost uncanny....

We took our kids to Sea World, and while walking towards a ride, we saw a bird cage full of cuckoos. The kids wanted to know about them, and we went up to read the plaque. No mention was made about it's pattern of laying eggs in another bird's nest. When we told our kids about it, they were shocked to know how this bird takes advantage of the giving nature of others. Without missing a beat, Hubby said, "Yes, this is the avian version of a lib."

You have "cracked a few eggs" with few words. It is a masterpiece as noted by all of the comments as to what could replace the Islamists or be added to them. Congress seems to be the exception. There the cuckoos were all laid and hatched out in one place, thus the screaming and shoving to get their spending.

This is a classic.

Those birds along with those mentioned by HistoryDiva, are exactly the parasites you describe. Did you ever travel in Mississippi or some of the other Southern states where Kudzu had just about taken over? Whole trees, whole groves of trees of all sizes, were covered with the stuff. Very eerie. Very deadly.

This same pattern has repeated throughout history.
The "Radicals" will terrorize and run to the "Moderates" for safety sustenance and arms.

The "Moderates" pretend to comply out of fear.
The cycle continues until the civilization being preyed upon loses patience and crys;
"Kill them all, let God sort them out".

This has happened many times and each time some strong Nation has taken pity and put a stop to the killing, just like we did in Bosnia.

Who will stop America when we have no more patience?
What Nation could?
What Nation cares a rat's rectum and would want to?
