Why Own A Gun If It Doesn't Kill?

I am really trying...

... but I just can't seem to get your point.

Of course people with guns have the potential to kill other people (show me a gun floating around popping off rounds all by itself)... Some are criminals who kill the innocent, others are criminals who kill other criminals and still others are people who kill criminals who are breaking into their homes or doing something similar (i.e. threatening death or great bodily harm).

Disinformation or lying in the point

Aren't you tired of democrats, republicans, liberals, conservatives, congress people, lobbiests, hollywood, corporations etc. lying to you. Whatever point the second amendment supporters and NRA have it is a lie to say that guns don't kill people. In listening to Bill Kristol complain on Sunday about Iran weapons killing Americans I was suddenly struck by the contradiction between the idea that guns don't kill and the fact that no one blames the Iraqis who use the IEDs for the killings. It's all about the Iranians who supply the weapons. While the IEDs and rockets may be bigger and kill more people at once the underlying concept ought to be the same. The truth is that it takes both guns or armaments and people to kill. For second amendment supporters to say that guns don't kill is at best devious and at worst a lie. This also shows a contempt and disrespect for the intelligence of Americans, most of whom I'm sure can see that the gun lobby is being devious.

I see that the problem here is that…

… you have either entirely missed the point Mr. Kristal was making or you are deliberately engaging in intellectual dishonesty. Either way, I am not too sure why I even posted here in the first place… You are talking apples and oranges here. Good luck!

I'll let you go, but....

Too many people, too often advance the cliche about talking apples and oranges. Two points. First, you can compare apples and oranges according to appearance, taste, etc.

Second, one needs to be sure that this isn't just a lazy way of thinking, or actually not thinking by dismissing the point someone makes.

Are you sure I'm really talking apples and oranges?
