Re

That is the best you've got??!? That some guy has been remembered and worshippd for a long time? I hear the same argument from the Nastradamus chaps.

I do love this line though: "There is more wisdom, depth, range, glory, nuance and truth in my tradition than can be dreamt of in your rationalism."

Contradict much?

The interesting thing about the book is how it evolves as time goes on. Mark is considered the first Gospel written (and incidentally believed by many scholars to be stories, and nothing more, as intended by Mark), completed around 70 AD. If you look at stories in Matthew and Luke that are also in Mark, you can see that they are very similar and show a natural progression of a character. However, stories that are not found in Mark, but are in Matthew and Luke, appear very inconsistent. Stories of the birth and resurrection show this to be the case.

Many things have endured a long time; most of them have been found to be incorrect.
