Wrong Argument

2012 Is A Long Time Away

I share some problems with Palin. Nothing major, but something doesn't feel right.

I also think we are in for a major change to the "Right". Obama has made the typical rookie mistake of going too far to the left too fast. His foreign policy also is very poor.

Hey, Obama is nowhere near left. Those who think so I have not read people from the left; rather, they have read liberal democrat stuff.

2012 is a long way away. But my question is which day in that year will be more important: election day or Dec 21?

Caday5

Actually, I dismissed the Dec 21 thing in a post a while ago.

The Maya mentioned dates past the beginning of the 14th b'ak'tun, which seems to suggest they did not think it anything like the end of the universe. It was nothing like the Hindu end of a yuga, more like the end of a century. (There are also four larger units of time which are not used regularly, which also suggest that history isn't ending on Dec 21, 2012.)

Many people have drawn absurd conclusions from the Mayan/mesoamerican calendar.

Don't have the link handy, but when I find it I will add my link here.

I am curious because of my age. My goal right now is to be alive to see that day and then after that, I will pick a new date to hope to reach.
