Comment on: The Oil Patch Plug

OBAMA Energy Policy begins and ends at Starbucks

oil patch

Good stuff, thanks for posting. Seems like the lives of some stupid fish or elk are more valuable than the livelyhood of the American people. And that we should waste or money on terrorist oil as well. Thanks for coming by my blog. I usually post editorial cartoons I draw but I'm fixing to go on hiatus so it will be awhile before I post a cartoon, or anything else for that matter. Feel free to stop by anytime.

Willful ignorance on economics

I used to live in Alaska, twice for a total of eight winters. My oldest son still lives there. I have been to the North Slope and to the other end of the pipeline, Valdez. The engineering and safety measures are quite amazing. The oil pipeline has not harmed the wildlife and environment according to anecdotal evidence. The north slope area is a desert and not good for much. No Inuits live there, for instance. I hear the caribou like the warmth of the pipeline. The bottom line is that we should drill more oil from the north of Alaska. I also believe that we should treat this as a stopgap for the ultimate replacement of fossil fuel with other sources that the USA develops for its own use. Our dependence on the Near East is skewing our politics in a bad way. My opinion.
