What price would a person pay for liberty? Would he give his life? Would he give his life to defend or provide liberty to another human being? Why is it that the Ethiopians seem to have what it takes to defeat the Islamist but we don't. What do they have to protect that is so valuable? If being "civilized" means giving in and accepting behavior that will take away my liberty then I don't want to be civilized.

Then again, based on e-mails I've received for my rants, I don't qualify as civilized anyhow.

The answer about Ethiopia is obvious- they are not Liberal in the Western sense and so still understand human nature in all its ugly aspects. They know they are threatened and are responding as any normal person would.
