Views of Religious Right Harmful to Republican Presidential Candidates.

"I personally feel the question by the moderator of the was out of line and exposed the Republican candidates unfairly."

You nail it for sure. It was definitely a trap. It'll be used against them by the Dem's but I don't believe it'll harm them. It was such huge mistake to have Matthews, a rabid Dem, moderate. How could the Repub's make such a bad decision? Oh well. The best thing the Repub's can do is focus on how they will appoint strict originalists judges. Once the courts are full of this sort of Judge and we have at least 5 or 6 "Scalia's" on the Supreme Court, Roe v Wade will go down. Additionally, a lot of other issues will turn more favorably for conservatives and Christians.

Mr. Dowdy, Thank you for stopping by my Townhall site. You don’t feel the connection to the Religious Right will harm the Republican candidates, and of course I do. My reason is the recent Supreme Court vote on partial birth abortion has alerted the “middle of the roaders” as I call them who are the majority of Americans.

I accepted your invitation to visit and am happy to meet you. You are a dyed in the wool conservative as are most of my friends in the Greensboro, NC blogosphere. I must confess that I have many “liberal” views, altho am mostly conservative so I don’t fit into any particular category and have a tendency to upset both camps with my opinions on my blog.

You seem not to think the Republican have much to offer as far as candidates go. I disagree because I see several who would be good presidential material. Whereas the Democrats have nothing to offer. I like Romney but feel he is too much of an intellectual. At this time in our history and with world events being what they are I believe we need a president who is a streetwise hardnosed in fighter who knows when to deal and when to fight. Giuliani I believe is this person. He has personal baggage but I believe he can overcome it. And since intellectuals are a dime a dozen he can buy his "experts advice". Intellectuals know but seldom, know what to do with their knowledge. Giuliani knows what to do to get the resul;ts he wants.

As for the aliens both legal and illegal I believe we have to accept and eal with assimilating the ones who are here but at the dame time seal and double lock our borders. Have spent a great deal of time in the sourthwest seeing the problems up close. We in North Carolina have a large and growing Hispanic population. For the most part there are no troubles to speak of and a labor pool of hardworking employees.
