Sacramento Area Convervative Townsquare checking in. Looking forward to seeing the rest of our nation-wide activist pals up here soon.

Question: Should we start building our own chapter blogs or wait to see what happens here?

New TownSquare Blog!

Dave,

Great! Thanks for taking the lead!

I have not yet created a blog for our Phoenix Chapter, but will do so soon.

3 steps forward and 2 steps back seems the way of the world. Rather than complain about the lack of attention given to us specifically, I applaud your constructive response to simply set it up yourself! Leadership like that WILL pay off!

The louder the liberals scream, the more successful must our conservative principals be demonstrated! The Tide is turning! The Kos and company are in for a very RUDE awakinging!

Learning Curve

Dave,

I like having a unified place for each of us to "meet" together and share our thoughts and ideas. Getting the navigation down to actually finding this place was a tad tricky for me, so I'd like to see if we could maintain a central blog as well our own blog sites. Some folks will want to create their blogs right away, I guess. Others, like me, would prefer to get the learning curve down a little more easily before attempting to customize our own blogosphere. Were you suggesting we branch off this one?

Did I actually have to sign up for a newsletter to type in this comment?

Thanks!

Good job in setting this up Dave

Well at least now we have some presence on Townhall.com

Waiting to see...

I will probably end up back at Meetup, but summer is so slow that I will give it a month or so before deciding. I might as well forget a blog with my current members. When I had a Yahoo! group, only a few people would write in it. I have about two or three people who would blog when Townhall wants your address before you can write anything.

This Blog

We had high hopes, didn't we? I want to thank you for giving this a try. Clearly, it will take a lot of work to establish any visible presence on the new Townhall.com. Three or four of us out of 26 member cities will have a tough time making a name for Townquare Network.

For those willing to give it a shot, be sure to provide the URL for any blogs your chapter or members create. We can add them to our Blog Roll so there's a least some connectivity.

Ownership of this blog, for what it worth, can be shared by any of our fellow hosts. Just let me know if you're interested in sharing those duties. Unlike Meetup, we have no editing controls to speak of here. Hopefully, that will change or this will just be another battlefield for keyboard warriors. Frankly, we've way too much on our plate in Sacramento and with our obligation to The Network to play that game here.

Townsquare Network INVISIBLE

I hate to say it! Another test dashes hopes that we'll be very visible here. Using the website's "Search" untility to find us yeilds zero results. If we can't be found with a simple search function, why are we even here?

At first blush, what seems to the be order of the day, is our being force fed what Townhall.com writers wants us to weigh in on, not the other way around. In essence, a ONE WAY STREET. I could be wrong folks, it wouldn't be the first time, but I'd like you thoughts before tossing in the towell.

Blogs

I have had a blog for our Townhall Group for over 2 years.

I appreciate the effort, but I have no intention of trying to maintain another blog.

Status Bar Reads Errors on Page

Didn't know we were supposed to use our chapter names for our nicks. Sorry. This is Susan from Richardson, Texas. Suppose I could change that on the Townhall site? I'll try.

As I was reading the comments and looking around for the editing feature mentioned above (never found it - guess this is for Dave only), I happened to notice on my browser's status bar the message: Done, but with errors on page.

The navigation trouble I was having before directly related to some of the comments regarding invisibility mentioned above. Now I don't feel so stupid having so much trouble. I do still wonder if I had to sign up for a newsletter from Townhall to use this site. It apparently recognized me when I clicked on it from Dave's e-mail. That doesn't happen on my own site; you have to login -- especially moderators and administrators. I may feel a little less stupid, but none the less confused.

And I'm a web site administrator, folks! How are the computer-cautious going to be able to find us, use the blog, and navigate the site?

I'll go to the Meetup site and see what's posted there.

What's Hot

I was able to find this blog through the What's Hot section of Townhall.

At least we have some exposure.
