The TSA Joke

...these types of procedures being implamented in order to show the populace that the politicians are "doing something about it" really infuriates me personally...if more people were armed and dangerous there would be alot less ruckus...

Have you ever noticed that all the warning signs and instructions are printed in English/Spanish but not in the most critical language: Arabic?

You're absolutely right that all of this garbage is so the politicians can say they're "doing something." I wish they had to good sense to recognize when the best "something" they could "do" is "NOTHING!" All these time-consuming and expensive procedures are just so we can have the *APPEARANCE* of security.

It's like a 6-inch thick steel door with 12 bullet-proof time-locks set into a wood and plaster door frame. One termite and the whole thing falls in. The biggest risk to a burglar is to get the door open without it falling on him!

That's a good point about the signs not being in Arabic! We should take that up with the TSA and see how well they ignore us!

luggage should be locked so no one steals anything, but unlocked (untied) so it can be checked. Sounds like the govt.'s involved.

I don't travel much but occassionally. I do hear horror stories like this, however. You can bet that if you were wearing Arab garb you'd have been waved on through with a smile because they wouldn't want to offend. Like those Immams in the news recently. Screaming and hollaring in the terminal. They didn't boot them until after they got seated. DD

Yah, I've been telling a variation of that joke to people, about how long it's going to take you to get somewhere by air if you include time for security -- UNLESS you wrap your head up in a turban --

It occurs to me that the terrorists no longer need to kill us -- just frustrate us to the point that we commit mass suicide!

I gave up on the airlines due to the stress from trying to get there early enough to get through the check points, disrespectful passengers, etc. For much less money, I took the A-train back to WI this past October. While our "time of departure" was delayed as the A-Train (coming from CA) got behind a freight train in the Rockies, it was a pleasant ride.

(Denver's International Airport was the hugest waste of taxpayers money since CO gained statehood. The "piece of work" looks like it was designed by the Islamo-fascists.)

Just don't fly.....I think TSA does a great job.

Let me ask you what you do, what is your job? And how would you fell if some prick started in about your job. I think the TSA is just doing a job. A job that not to many people want to do in fact. I mean come on you think they like having to go in to peoples bags? I don't think so.

I think I'd like to find out what the "prick's" complaint was so maybe I could address the problems and fix them.

See, I'm not a government employee. That fact IS relevant. Since I'm not in the government, I actually have customers to satisfy. That "prick" might take his business somewhere else. If I want his business, I need to find out how make him happy.

Unfortunately, the TSA are beholden to no one. "Pricks" like myself have little choice, unless I want to take my car and drive to Singapore.

No, this is completely inaccurate. Many people want that job and will do it happily (and better). Many people would be happy to have that job for less pay.

Indeed, that job was formerly in the private sector until Bush decided to nationalize it, the way Chavez nationalized the industries in Venezuela. The results are the same, any time you put the government in charge. Costs go up, while service goes down.

It seems every other month there's a story in the news where somebody successfully sneaks a phony bomb in past these "experts." In the private sector, these people would be fired. Guess what happens to TSA employees?

I'm sure they get all sorts of thrills rifling through people's underwear. Prostitutes charge $20 for the privilege.

Fox affiliate KDDR in Denver just tried leaving bags unattended at the airport, to see what what actually happen.

You know, such as they warn you over, and over, and over, that "Unattended bags will be removed and destroyed"?

Well guess what -- those bags remained unattended for up to an hour. They were passed by passengers, airport employees, police, and TSA agents. Nobody picked them up to do anything about them.

OH, I feel SO SAFE NOW! With those good old Un-Fire-able Federal Civil Servants ON THE JOB!

What do we expect when the smart white males are not elgible but, the Big fat, lazy, idiot black welfare loser is?! All in the name of stupid "Diversity" and, Equal? Affirmative Action/Welfare to work Liberal Ted Kennedy Programs!!! I am a 58 year old white male with a college degree and, I didn't qualify! they took the Big,fat;(see above) applicant!
Then there's this: they don't get any respect? so they're getting badges and, clothes that look like the ICE Federal Law Enforcement Agents?! Aren't they just Federal security guards!? Lets turn this back to the private companies! Washington only knows how to screw things up!
