This is going to cost you and me about $40,000 each before it is finished. [the lower half pays only 3% of the taxes. The top 20% pay 80% of the taxes and 1 trillion is 8000$ each for 130 million workers.]

way to tie this up and put a bow around it. There is no doubt that Dodd, Obama et al are at least complicit, if not directly accountable for this debacle. I hadn't thought about the ACORN angle...someone should collect that rabble up and send them to Gitmo.

Surprisingly enough, my small town paper usually prints everything I send in. The Nashville Tennessean is another story; Far too liberal. If I wrote the same letter, blaming the republicans.........then they would print it.

It's the usual corruption on the left, and of course they never get their just rewards...with the Media's help the dems always get away with stuff. It is extremely upsetting.

I hope Americans are seeing what's happening to our country, and realize we cannot afford dems in control of both houses of Congress, and the White House...if we are in bad shape now, just wait...

Well written and to the point. We are pushing another truckload of debt onto our progeny. These bailouts have averted an outright economic crash for the present, but the piper has played and he must be payed. When the collection comes due, WATCH OUT!

As bad as it looks.......just think. If we can get off the foreign oil merry-go-round, one year of the 700 billion we send to the Arabs & others, will go a long way in retiring this new debt. The trick is to get McCain & Palin in office & start using our own assets and keep our money here in our own country. We can always hope

I am wondering if McCain will have the backbone to call it for what it is - a mess that began with Clinton pushing multiculturalism, etc. I doubt he will . I am thinking he'll stay away from that one so as not to PO the Clintons and force them to really come out full-force for BO.

They really do think we're stupid, don't they?! The dem's especially but also the Repub's. But its us "stupid" Middle Americans that'll have to clean this mess up.
I see two escape routes. 1) if we do begin to produce 85-100% of our own oil/energy and that $700 billion is funneled back into our own economy, 1st and foremost its going to create millions of high paying domestic oil field related jobs. I get a lot of flak on the latter but I still believe it'll bring in boatloads of foreign currency. Which is what we need right now. Between these 2, if they're realized, this bailout will seem like a bump in the road. Thats why I remain....optimistic. DD

PS: so far I'm against the bail out. let 'em flop around on the deck like a fish out of water. my only worry, will we be floppin', too?

I'm convinced that NOTHING will work with Obama. Not energy, the economy, the courts or anything else that conservatives care about. We need to pray, pray, pray lest we end up with liberals in all three houses with no checks & balances.

I hate knee jerk legislation, that is done in 20 seconds. Sometimes legislation creates a larger crisis instead of fixing the so-called current one. As Mark Levin said "You don't rebuild the houses that burned down, and then give the arsonist a brand new pack of matches"

If we truly had an investigative media in this country that worked in the public interest things could be oh so different. But we've got the fox in charge of the henhouse and a watch dog that is in cahoots with the fox. When things go south those we're supposed to be able to rely on in the press betray the confidence we have placed in them to tell us the truth. We the people can no longer trust the media for anything other than passing out the Demcorat talking points and must look elsewhere for information on which to base our vote. But that will require effort and I'm afraid too many us refuse to make that effort.

Been running with my hair on fire. Been beating on Dem's doors and writing letters to the editor, having friends forward them, send them to their own papers under their names, etc. Also been busy with domestic stuff..............canning everything in sight for winter. Canning pears as we "speak". Made italian meatball soup earlier in the week. Also helping take care of a church friend who is Wheelchair bound for 2 months following achilles tendon repair. Haven't been posting everything on my blog because all you guys do such a great job, I feel like I'm preaching to the choir. Trying to reach out where I think it does the most good.
