Since the Right...
started demanding open drilling, oil is now down to 125$, and Labor Day prices may be 3.50 a gal. I wonder if these events are connected?

Connected?
As you know, of course these things are connected. Particularly connected is Bush's lifting of the executive order restricting off shore drilling. No credit in the media for Bush as would be expected.
Those who invest in oil futures must protect their money by covering their long positions in oil. If they don't, they could quickly loose their shirts when the projected future supply of oil increases. Interestingly, when the price goes down, more of them are betting that we will eventually drill. The Democrat leadership is betting that the American people are so stupid that they will buy into the nonsensical anti-oil company, anti-speculator, pro-regulation, anti-drilling, pro-emission cap position. I hope they lose their shirts and their seats.

the economy
was the Dem's plan of attack, now it may bite them in the aaaa....back, especially if the GOP gets oil prices down and we see progress in a plan towards energy independence.

Maybe the nitwits would like to see what the world would look like without the hyper-productive US supplying food, goods and services. We survived the cold war, while feeding the "socialist paradise" with one hand tied behind our backs.
