You are aware, I hope, that Al Qaida is not the only game in town, and that 9/11 was not the first act in this GWOT?

Abu Abbas (Achille Lauro), Yasin (1993 Twin towers bombing), Saddam (Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Prague), Khobar towers, Marine barracks in Lebanon, hostages in Beruit, Riyadh barracks, Tehran Embassy, et cetera and et cetera. Why limit the GWOT to UBL? He's one man. Do you think that if he dies, Islamic terrorism withers on the vine? The Saudis may have supplied most of the terrorists on 9/11, but there are countless acts of terrorism against Americans that have nothing to do with Saudis.

I agree that the education exchange is ill-advised. I can think of nothing good that could come of it. Sayyid Qutb (disciple of al-Banna, founder of the Islamic Brotherhood) spent time in the U.S. and held a virulent hatred of the U.S., why should these 15,000 be any different? Why shouldn't they go home hating the "debauchery" of Americans?
