TURKEYS FOR THE POLL BOOTH
References to turkeys for Thanksgiving came to mind when reading your paper today about the possible actions of one A. Gore.
There had been a questionnaire on the home page of Townhall asking what Democrat could best be beaten by a Republican. My answer: Hillary Clinton. Why was my answer thus? For the same reasons so ignominiously put forth by some pundit or other on Fox, and so humorously put forth day before yesterday (or was it yesterday?) by Doug Giles. Doug was his usual funny self, and his humor has seldom been as sharp as it was on the subject of the unelectability of the inimitable Mrs. C.
Of course, you're absolutely correct in mentioning what to most of us are unmentionables -- and by that I mean home-spun terror by either home-grown or illegal alien terror. Either way, in my opinion, they are illegal, and they are alien; ergo they are illegal aliens. For all I know they may as well be from a different planet. I can't imagine anyone as hate-filled or hateful as terrorists who would either behead us or convert us by undue influence (such as a threatened beheading).
In any event, if we are beset by these throngs of terror-mongers, who will care who sits in the White House fiddling? The one there now fiddles and dreams up ways to tear down the very nation his own father helped to defend. The NAU, the Chinese threat, unsafe borders -- he cares for none of that. Who knows what goes on in his mind while Rome burns?
Of course, you have again posed questions to which there are no answers. Nobody is better at it than you are. Anyone who attempts to answer must of necessity go off on strange tangents that appear relevant only to the writer.
Keep on keeping on, though. Keep us thinking. Maybe we can think of ways to prevent Rome from burning down completely.

Thanks SF; you have a real grasp of my thinking. I hope that doesn't reflect badly on you.
