John Adams

John Adams once quipped, "woe be the day the voters discover they can vote themselves money."

The founders set up a system of checks and balances. Where is the balance to the politicians wanting to raise taxes in order to spend money and the people wanting to vote themselves money? There is no check.

What we need today are political thinkers who can stand up and be counted.

The Federal Government needs some kind of check to balance its proclivities to tax. Bush's tax cuts are laugh compared to the notion that the Federal government grew under his administration more so than under LBJ.

Unfortunately when their is no check to balance something then the natural check of *disaster* will apply.

Our government will have to collapse in order to put a check on all the spending.

John Adams was right. Its too bad our political leaders of today are nowhere near as competent as John Adams or any of the major players during the founding of this country.

Our elected officials are all idiots. Every last one of them.
