Not only do we want to be partners with an oppressive regime...we want to BE an oppressive regime. If you do not see the signs of it, you are blind, baby, blind.
One of the most oppressive things that China does is control the media and what the population is fed for information. If you think that is not happening here, you are kidding yourselves. The only thing that keeps them from total control is the internet, and in China, even Google is censored.
