Four examples

Exhibit A: India, largest democracy in history. Stable, responsible actor on the world stage.

Exhibit B: Turkey, democracy for last 80 years. Mostly stable. Able to disagree without resorting to violence.

Exhibit C: Malaysia. Admittedly, don't know much about Malaysia, but Malaysia is standing firmly behind democracy in the face of a strong Shari'a movement.

Exhibit D: Indonesia. Suharto is gone...don't know much about Indonesia, but Indonesia, like Malaysia, is standing firmly behind democracy in the face of a strong Shari'a movement.

Honorable mention: Morocco. Slowly transitioning to a Constitutional Monarchy, as the monarchy slowly cedes authority to an elective body. Morocco is supportive of the War on Terror and is attempting to build and strengthen democratic institutions and rights, within the monarchy.
