Comment on: Romney for President. NOT!

Mitt Romney's supporters "all have a similar look about them"

Religious Bias

I am responding, not as a supporter of Romney since I haven't decided which candidate is the best, but as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, otherwise known as the Mormon Church. It is my impression that the writer is attacking a group of people because they are "neat" in their appearance, and wear suits, white shirts, and ties when they attend their religious meetings. Heaven forbid! This writer has more problems with my religion than the clothes we may wear to church, but the writer is hiding behind the clothes issue to vent his bias. In an attempt to educate the writer and anyother reader who buys into the writer's description of the picture, the picture is a picture of a group of Mormon missionaries. You can tell by the black name tags on their suit jackets. Anyone in our church could have told you that, but of course, the writer is not looking for the truth. Our missionaries are directed to wear similar clothes and to be clean in appearance so people can identify them easily. Those who read this comment will probably acknowledge that they can identify a Mormon Missionary from a distance by their appearance. As far as members of my Church who are not missionaries, I would defy anyone to pick us out from members of other faiths who are also going to their religious meetings. Like us, most of them are wearing their "Sunday Best" in showing respect to the God that they choose to worship. It is my understanding that one who judges another by their appearance is called a bigot.

Cults all look the same

Have you ever visited a high school? Surely everyone there must be in the same cult! It is astonishing how the rugged individualists that haunt the halls of most any high school in the U.S. all wear the same "homeless-look" jeans, T-shirts and hoodies. Clearly they've been brainwashed by someone. Ambercrombie and Fitch, perhaps?

"Busy worker bees?"

Once upon a time in America having a strong work ethic was as honorable as keeping one's word. Mormons still believe in both. You have a problem with that?

The nature of us "disturbing supporters"

I suppose by some Americans' standards, Mormons are disturbing. Which of our primary characteristics bothers you the most?
1. We love God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ, do our best to follow them, and agressively seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit --pretty much all of the time.
2. We love our country and do all we can to strengthen and protect it -including laying our lives on the line to protect the freedom of others.
3. We love our families. Generally speaking, our husbands and wives are true to each other and cherish their children.
4. We generously give of our time and money to help others in trouble, regardless of their faith or nationality.
5. You probably won't see a lot of cleavage in a group of Mormon women, or many exposed boxers in a group of Mormon men, because we value modesty.

So, yeah, I guess that's pretty disturbing --at least when held up next to the standards you're likely to see on most TV shows, movies, or on the Las Vegas Strip.

Nice picture

Nice picture of some missionaries. I dont know if all of them know who Mitt Romney is or when the electin is. It's obvious the person operating this sight is more interested in tale bearing than truth telling.

To LDSKaren and all other LDS members

Ma'am,

Nobody was debating the fact that Mormon's are about good works (as stated in your characteristics).

Here is what is distrubing....

The LDS church follows flawed doctine (Book of Mormon). Scripture, facts, and history has proved this. If you have missed some of the facts the author of this blog provides some of them in the beginning (please re-read).

Yes, the Christian community is bothered that so many have fallen for LDS false doctrine. Why shouldn't we be concerned when we have data and facts that tell us so.

I will admit... Mormons (in general) are wonderful loving people. They do a lot of good things for a lot of people. But beware of some of the doctrine you are being fed and here is an easy explination of why you should beware.

Rev. Ch. 22:18-19 -- the book of Mormon is a prime example of this. Does it even not say on this book that it is another testiment of Jesus Christ? Tisk Tisk.

God Bless you and I will pray for the LDS church to remove fasle teachings.

To Jay and all others like him

You guys are about the dullest lot ever conceived. You quote the Bible to support your claim that Mormons aren't Christian, but the parts you quote are contradicted elsewhere in the same Bible.

You cited Rev. 22:18-19, which is similar to Deut. 4:2. According to your argument, everything in the Bible after Deuteronomy 4 must be false.
