Too many people don't understand that it takes years to build a qualified NCO corps and a competent officers corps. A military has to grow into itself. It must learn and distill professionalism. Starting from scratch takes a great deal of time.

I'm with Strategypage that the biggest problem in the IA is battling corruption. That is the #1 problem in the Middle East and it needs to be rooted out thoroughly. That demoralizes a fighting force like nothing else and it is the way things have been going on there for as long as anyone can remember.
