Let's Turn the Country Over to the Socialists!

I agree

I agree. I love bureaucrats, long food lines, government dependency, losing wars, media brainwashing and Gulags.

trv

Hurray! We can do this! Glad to have you on board!

Good comments as usual! Thanks for checking in!:)

Your Right!

We've had guns and tobacco for over 230 years and that's just too d@mn long!!

It's time we emulate Cuba's health care system!!

It's time to coronate Alec Baldwin to the Supreme Court!!

It's time for free condoms, needles, and lypo-suction for the masses!!

Thank you Sheila for leading the way for those of us who quit at the first sign of adversity...it's so much easier....

Don't stop there

Communism or Facsism would make us a more likeable nation. Don't worry about us, we need to spend more time and treasure taking care of those who don't like us. Our present existence is warming the globe, depleting food and energy sources, creating worthless technologies, and sponsoring Judeo-Christian terrorism all around. Socialism doesn't go far enough.

My eyes are finally open!!!

How could I have been so blind? I will abandon my faith and become the evolved ape I was meant to be!

It feels so good to be liberated doesn’t it? I am so thankful that I can rely fully on the government to supply me with all of my needs!

Imagine! (good riddance John)

**beats chest heartily**

Jimmy Carter

Exactly! I knew I could count on Townhall bloggers to see things the right way! This is fabulous!

We can get rid of guns, import Cuber's healthcare system, have free lypusuction to boot!

Adding your suggested benefit of Alec Baldwin to the Supreme Court adds some Hollywood bling!

And "quitting at the first sign of adversity", has to be our motto for the next few weeks before the election! Thank you Jimmy for you utter brilliance!...:)

James Biga

Wow! More brilliance on parade! We need to be a more "likeable nation"...! As Communist/Facists we could definitely accomplish that!

Your description of the current conditions we are foisting on the world are so correct, you've nailed it, socialism simply doesn't go far enough to cure the ills we have brought upon the globe!

I am at a loss for words at such deep thinking, James!:)

gregmc

Welcome to the family, gregmc! By abandoning your faith you too can now live out your destiny as an evolved ape, with the rest of us! We can get rid of global warming by simply moving back into the caves we should have been living in in the first place!

I am so glad you have seen the light and are now among the liberated, allowing the government take care of your every need!...YOU DA MAN!

Again, I am blown away by the unspeakable wisdom in your comments!...;)

Just so you know

You have contributed greatly to a badly needed laugh! Ya'll are the best!...:) (Practicing my texan)

Deep Thinking

That's the first time I've ever been accused of that.Don't let it get out, If my wife finds out I'm in real trouble.

Don't forget....

...we've already got the national anthem picked out! http://www.uv.es/~pla/red.net/intaoter.html

Arise ye workers from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.
Away with all your superstitions
Servile masses arise, arise
We'll change henceforth the old tradition
And spurn the dust to win the prize.

So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.

The economy is way too good.

The stock market which is at all time highs must be brought back down. We need Pelosi's tax increases to bring back the recession that Bush inherited.

We must feel the pain of countries that don't have what we have.

Are some disgruntled Conservatives...

...contemplating cutting and running from D.C. after a few reverses?

Your last line really brings home the point and ought to shame Conservatives into showing up on the first Tuesday in November.

James Biga's got it.

Our very existence is a thorn in the side of everyone. We just need to implode. Maybe we can get Chappaquiddick Teddy to run in '08.

Sheila,

stop by my blog when you've got a sec; I've got a few new posts on there.

More ignorance please!

After a brief stint of selecting leaders who actually understand basic economics and the benefit of free markets, it's high time to go back to the Democrats who don't bother wasting their time looking at historical data proving the success of private property, private business, and free markets in improving our standard of living.

Let's go back to the stone age!

Those So Called

conservatives who would throw over the republican leadership and toss away 50% of what they want to embrace 0% of what they want and 100% of what they hate are just brain numbingly foolish.

The argument that kicking them out of power woudl drive them back to the right is just specious.

Shut up and Capitulate

That says it all.

They certainly don't want free speech.

I can't wait for the Dems to take over..

So I can quit my job, and live off the fruits of others labor.

I hear that the birds will sing sweeter, the sun will shine more brightly (but global warming will reverse), there won't be any potholes in the street, Stem-cell research will cure every disease known to man (which will put the e-vil drug companies out of business), Fundamentalist Islamists will be our best friends, and there will never be another war.

Man, November is gonna be sweet, eh?

Sarcasm switch now set in the *off* position.

Well, again, buzzing in the ointment

All this cheerelading is very nice, but the coach of any good team doesn't depend solely on the rah-rahing of the cheer squad. He has to be able to make an honest assessment of the weaknesses as well as the strengths of his team if he's going to be successful, and right now Team Republican has some very glaring weaknesses.

Spending that is, or should be, embarrassing beyond words. Earmarking to such a ridiculous extreme that I'm surprised there's any ear left. A border that is an absolute sieve, and they've only finally taken a baby step when faced with a disasterous defeat at the polls. An Iraq policy (the lame idea of Western-style democracy) that even Team Bush is finally recognizing as unachievable (see today's Washington Times, or my July 14 blog essay), deserting their own candidates (Katharine Harris) just like the Dems did to Joe Liberalman, and taking up the cause of Liberalman (that one stills blows my mind).

We're talking here about the gang that couldn't shoot straight.

BrianR

True, we have our own problems. I am considering putting out a post on the bigger picture of that soon. Like usual from me, probably will be ver philosophical...

But Republicans are trying to be all things to all people, kind of what moved the Dems so far left. Don't know if its power or what, but it was principle that brought is and has kept us there. But its hard to discern what the principle is now. Even if it is terribly empty and a lie, at least the Dems seem like they have prinicple.

Justaguy: Absolutely

And the cheerleading compounds the problem, because everyone simply refuses to even admit there is a problem, let alone address it.

So the new paradigm is Dumb and Dumber; we're only Dumb, so vote for us.

Brian,

I would actually send in some money to a canditate who ran with that slogan: "Dumb and Dumber; we're only Dumb, so vote for us." At least he would be honest. You don't see that everyday in a politician.

The Trouble Is

What's the solution?

I have done my fair share of cheering, for sure, and I am not sure if I have a solution, less the ones gone over before: electing good conservatives in the primaries; developing a good conservative third party, etc.

But regardless, it would be naive for all of us to think that just by beating Dems we will be in a good situation.

Cheerleading, etc.

It certainly is naive to say that simply beating the Dems would put us in a good position. However, it's also fair to say that we'd be in a worse position if they won.

The solution is

to get large enough majorities, that we can hold their feet to the fire. Then we can vote the Rino's out. Right now they don't have a 60 vote majority in either house and the Dems have a lot of power. Look at all of the appointments to the judicial that the Dems are holding up.

Also, remember 1996, many of the budget cutters were voted out because most people want their own pork. In addition, in a year when our Republican revolution should have gained steam, the voters were apathetic because they hadn't gotten their way on everything. Sitting out elections and letting the Dems win is not a winning strategy. We could go another 40 years in the wilderness, as happened before.

I've been going back and forth on this.

Both sides have good points. But I just came upon the deciding factor. I know, it's small of me, but after visiting Sandra's excellent blog, I decided that showing the polls wrong and watching the Dems squirm as they try to come up with an excuse to how they lost when a dead rat could have one would alone be worth it to me to go ahead and vote. If nothing else, I don't like being manipulated by polls.

Cynewulf:

Wow, that's a real compliment...Another benefit would be proving the MSM wrong, we would be voting against them too.

An analogy

Your doctor tells you that you have a fatal cancer. The only hope for your survival is radical chemotherapy. The side effects of the chemo are 6 months of barfing your brains out, losing your hair which will fortunately grow back, losing your sex drive, debilitation, susceptibility to ancillary infections (such as flu, colds, etc.), weakness, inability to sleep restfully, etc.

The alternative: Ignore your cancer. In 6 months you'll be dead.

Okay, folks, I'm waiting for some answers.

I'm baack!

Wow you guys are amazing! Talk about a fabulous discussion! I had to be away from the blog, and look at what I've missed!

I think before I comment on indiviual remarks I'll make a general statement.

First in an imperfect world we will never get all we want in our candidates and party. But which party and candidates tend to have the higher values and goals for the country? NOT the democrat socialists I mentioned.

Second I think we need to focus on what HAS been accomplished that wouldn't have been if the dems were in power! Does anyone other than dumb and dumber think the answer to this question is YES???

This is how the dems will try to get us to do their work for them! And if we do, we can call ourselves the dumb and dumber party!...:)

Brian R:

So, if the Democrats win, that will be good for America? Are you suggesting that they will be the chemotherapy that the Republicans need?

The problem is that chemotherapy extends the suffering of many patients who end up dying anyway. What if the country dies during the chemotherapy???

We might not recover if there is another 9/11 and the Dems are running the country. I don't think that most of us realize how bad it could have been if we hadn't had the people in power that made the kinds of decisions that got us back on our feet so quickly. I heard someone say that Bush is the victim of his own success. We bounced back so fast from 9/11 that we don't realize the peril that we were in.

Second... (writing too fast)

To restate that, does anyone think that what Has been accomplished would have been, with the dems in power? The answer has to be NO! Only YES if we're dumb and dumber...

Sandra: Not quite an accurate paraphrase

What I am saying is this:

The Republican party as it currently functions is fatally flawed. They are, if they continue down their current path, following the path of the WHIG party, from which they sprang. Please note that WHIG is no longer an option on your voting ballot. WHIG, of course, was an acronym for We Hope In God.

Does any of this resonate?

Sheila! Enough with the cheerlaeading!

Take a serious look at the problems.

I've written so many posts today that I can no longer remember where I wrote the analogy of the sports team. But it's very a propos.

Sandra

I guess your comment came in as I was restating mine!

Actually, looking....

... back up the page, I used the sports analogy here.

Sheila, look at it. Enough mindless rah-rah.

Hey Brian!

I'm not cheerleading! I'm stating the facts! Are we going to do the democrats work for them?

Brian R

This is serious! Are we going to focus on the things that HAVE been accomplished, or the few that we haven't? Can we reverse 50 years in six?

If we turn things over to the dems, we will reverse everything we have accomplished! That's dumber than dumb!

Sandra

Your answer to the "chemotherapy" is spot on!

Brian, I'm looking for your sports analogy!

No, Sheila,

You are NOT stating the facts. You are taking the "Dumb and Dumber" position, i.e.
"Hey, they're worse than us".

I do not find that persuasive.

Sheila:

You wrote: "Are we going to do the democrats work for them?"

We already have.

Solutions...

Brian R, your call for them is appropriate. Only in creating a party that offers AND ARTICULATES them will we see success.

We conservatives must engage our liberal friends and family members in conversation; must communicate the reasoning for our positions with patience and in their language (e.g. on social issues, compare the negative "environment" created when garbage is shot through a virtual fire-hose at our kids via tv/internet/radio/movies to the pollution of our physical world they so care about).

The conversations must be had, and the points will be won, little at a time.

We need to get our teenagers off the X-boxes/iPods and out behind lawnmowers, brooms, paint brushes, vacuums, etc...doing the jobs they aren't now which contributes to our "little" illegal immigration problem.

We need to vote, every election, and use the primaries to get rid of the drunken-sailor spenders and other RINOs.

Support changes in approach as necessary to achieve a stable Afghanistan and Iraq - and most importantly, communicate, communicate, communicate. The Bush administration has done many of the right, difficult things, but has allowed the MSM to define it and what it is doing. To succeed, conservative leaders need to get out front on the issues, not wait to react to the cockamamie spin the media puts on it.

Just a few ideas ;)

Sandra: Obviously, you...

... didn't understand my cancer metaphor in the least.

Marcus: Thank you

Evidently, you understood the points I was attempting to make.

BrianR

"team Bush...deserting our own candidates"...unfortunately all is not fair in love and war...

Sometimes the "team" has to go for the most likely winner, in order to win and keep the majority, and get the job done! I don't always agree, but I'm not going to punish myself because they didn't do what I would have preferred in that case!

Back to the issue: the socialist democrats have an agenda for the country that is not what we conservatives want, so, do we want them to win?
I say NO!

Sandra and Sheila

My point is this, since my metaphors have been ineffective.

I no longer, at least at this point, find the Republican Party reflective of my philosophy or world views, at least in the macro.

I'm having a very hard time distinguishing between the two major parties except on limited grounds.

Neither reflects my philosophy of true conservatism, i.e. constructionist interpretation of the Constitution, limited government, individual responsibility, national security and integrity (borders), fiscal responsibility and accountability, States' Rights.

Does that clear things up a bit?

Sheila, re your "Team Bush" post

You know what? I think that's BS, quite frankly.

It's a total abandonment of principle, alliances, and party integrity.

But if you want to become a party of expediency, just like the Democrats, have at it.

But I'm not playing that game.

Marcus

I agree with what you say. Communication is the key, among ourselves, friends, and family.

I think when Bush talks to the American people he is able to make his points, maybe not as well as Reagan, but it makes a big difference in public perception.

Unfortunately the MSM makes it appear they have defined him, but the MSM also made it appear Kerry had won, when it actually was Bush!

I totally agree we need to weed out the bad seeds, the Rhinos, and big spenders! We need to put the pressure on.

I disagree with Brian that the way to correct the problem is to create a bigger one.

Brian - Your point

Your description of true conservatism is a much healthier vision of and for the nation.

Keep having the (sometimes painful) conversations advancing the reasoning WHY this is the path to go down.

Looking at post-Katrina lessons to learn what is true RIGHT NOW about our nation, we learn that, RIGHT NOW we are a nation looking to be taken care of, that doesn't even understand states' rights/responsibilities vs. Federal or why they should care, and sees the U.S.A. as one big "state" with 50 subdivisions for no real reason.

Civic education has reached a nadir - when the populace at large doesn't understand the reasoning behind a federal system of states, why private property is an essential key to liberty, and thinks health insurance is a "right" we have a long, long rehabilitation in front of us.

I don't like it, I don't ask anyone else to either, but we must acknowledge that this is the truth of our situation now and chart a course back on step at a time. Nothing will succeed but persistence and dedication to educating, persuading, and communicating WHY to all the present generation just waiting to be led by somebody. Let's pray they don't follow the Democrats!

Hey Brian!

We're on the same side here! I understand your frustration! We simply disagree on the way to solve the problem. I too want the constitution upheld! Will the democrats appoint Justices who will?

I want all the things you mentioned, but will the democrats deliver your wants? I don't think so! In the day we live in, with terrorist in our midst, plotting our demise, with Ill Kim in Norht Korea, and Ahmadneedsanosejob in Iran who wants to usher in the end of civilization as we know it, I think dealing with a few bad apples in the Republican party is the least of our worries.

Sheila - Right Too

Sheila, you rightly point out the necessary pragmatism those successful in politics practice.

Couple that pragmatism with an offensive (as opposed to defensive) strategy including retooling public education to include an unapologetic, America-biased civics education and we'll see the nation you, Brian and I all envision.

Brian,

Regarding your comments to Marcus..." civic education has reached a nadir -the populace at large doesn't understand the reasoning behind the federal system of states"...I totally agree. And who has been in charge of education?

The only way we are going to turn things around is to maintain the gains we've made, continue to hold the majority, get more conservatives elected, and work to turn back the 50 years these guys have had to ruin this country! If we let them get back the majority, they will just continue the downward spiral to the point of no return.

We are making gains in changing hearts and minds of the new generation with the new sources of media that didn't exist until recently. I believe we are persuading many more than we think, and we will see it in the election. People are getting smarter, they're not accepting everything the MSM says as fact anymore.

Marcus

You're right! we need to be on the offensive. Think of how long the socialist democrats had the reigns of power, and how they changed this country for the worse?

We need to start reversing the damage to education by getting choice in school, so competition will create a better education environment, and eventually reverse the damage, and educate the next generation.

We also need to work on immigration, the border issues, but we will get nowhere in these areas with the dems in control.

Sheila - education point

The point that the Dems have been in charge of education for so long perfectly explains why we're at a nadir.

Even more reason to keep them away from the driver's seat...and to think I've been focusing narrowly on defense/foreign policy.

We do need competition in a most immediate way to force improvement in educational offerings.

Marcus

Point well made!

I think we can accopmplish our goals if we persevere!

James Biga

"Deep thinking"...I'll try not to let the cat out of the bag...:)

Scatbug

I remember the Anthem..."so comrads come rally"...the Internationale...thanks for the contribution! Socialists for ever!

mgraves

"Are some disgruntled conservatives...contemplating cutting and running from DC after a few reverses"?...

Afraid so...

Hope we don't "shut up and capitulate"...

Cynewulf

Your comments to James Biga...Chappaquiddick Ted...good suggestion for a candidate in "08. That will definitely fit the bill...:)

Prysson

"Those so called conservatives who would throw over the republican leadership...are just brain numingly foolish"...

Couldn't agree with you more! They'd get 100% of what they hate!

justaguy

"they certainly don't want free speech"...only for the socialist party...

Madelines Dad

"I can't wait for the dems to take over...So I can quit my job, and live off the fruits of others labor"...I'm laughing...

The perfect world will be ours...

Funny comments!

Cynewulf

"going back and forth"...glad t hear you're gonna prove them polls wrong!

Sandra

Thanks for your blog on the polls. I think it definitely makes the point that we can't "let 'em fool us on election day"...

I've loved the sense of humor

in your comments...funny stuff...keep the sarcasm alive!:)

Onward comrads!

Last night

I couldn't sleep, and I started thinking about the quitters in the party.

I wondered what our world would be like if Eisenhower had given up the war, and said "we're not getting the results we wanted, we're losing too many young men, it's not going the way we planned"...

Today I ran accross A Historical Perspective on "Aristophanes" blog on townhall (sorry I don't know how to link). Check it out, it's brilliant!

It's a Vision thing

Sheila, thanks for the reference to Aristophanes' piece.

On the quitters - This seems to be a reflection of a dimming vision of the future. As good leaders (who can and do exist at every titular level) we are charged with being keeping the flame of hope alive, and making sure that others can see it - regularly.

Brian's comments that we need solutions is an indication that they aren't being offered, or at least not clearly.

When we have people who can't see how what is being done bring about the desired result, it is time to check our heading, and either explain how the present course WILL get us where we want to go, OR make adjustments if we're off and THEN show 'em how what we're doing will get us there.

So, the nutshell is: This blessing of this discussion is that we can learn what needs to be done - the rest, doing it, is easy.

Ready to be be one of hope's torch-bearers? I know the answer ;)

It's really not that complicated

Sheila...That was some debate. If it matters still, I fall squarely in your camp. I won't try to refute sports or cancer analogies, because frankly they are a distraction and irrelevant. Politics means compromise, pure and simple. Sometimes we compromise with the opposition, sometimes, as is the case with this election, within our own ranks. That's the way it is. Here's an interesting article that may add something to the discussion: http://www.washtimes.com/national/20061019-122137-2717r.htm The Dems should not be in a position to do what this article describes. Plain and simple.

marcus

Glad you liked the essay on Aristophanes blog also.

The discussion here can get rather intense at times!:)

As conservatives we know the direction we want the country to go, but we don't always agree on how to get there! These discussions hopefully will have a positive result.

I do believe the conservatives are the "hope torch-bearers", as you say. We offer hope for a better future.

Thanks for all the good comments!:)

Scatbug

Thanks for weighing in on things!

Good article, and for sure we don't want the dems undoing all that has been accomplished. We have to keep the majority, get more conservatives in office, and continue the work! It can't all be done overnight...

I Agree

It would really show those Republicans whose boss, wouldn't it? While the country wallows in the Democratic nightmare, we'll know what a valuable less we taught the Republicans.

Thanks for the reference to my blog.

Scatbug:

You're right that politics means compromise, but it does not mean capitulation.

There is a point beyond which I simply will not go, as it becomes an issue of principle over pragmatism.

As I've written elsewhere, to me this is somewhat moot, as my Congressman, Buck McKeon, is a true conservative on every issue. Obviously, I'm voting for him. And "all politics is local", so the same will hold true for others. Most people vote for or against an individual, not some amorphous monolithic "party".

HOWEVER, as I've also written elsewhere, if someone is going to vote to take my guns away, give my money away, take my property under specious "eminent domain", let kids have abortions, and flood the country with illegal aliens, I'm not voting for him even if he's got an "R" behind his name. And there are many Republicans who will do exactly that.

PS, For those who...

... say "the war is all that counts", I disagree. We're in two wars, as I've maintained for years.

One is the War on Terror. But the other is the so far bloodless cultural civil war taking place in our own country, a war over the direction this country's going to take toward its future. It is every bit as dangerous, because losing it could well have consequences that are just as dire. Do not underestimate the effects.

THAT'S the war I'm talking about politically.

Thanks for the recommendation

Thanks for the recommendation that I read Aristophanes on townhall. You are right about his recent post. Thank you.

JoeofPA

Joe, thanks for checking in and commenting!

Sounds like your essay is a hit, BTW!

Good to hear from you!:)

BrianR

Regarding your PS post...I totally agree that we are fighting a cultural war, not just a war on terror.

It's true this war is as vital. That's why we have to get more true conservatives in office, for sure.

To those who are considering sitting out the election (though I'm beggining to think this is a media creation), if we lost the majority, it could take another 50 years of national downward spiral in the hands of the dems, before we could ever gain back the majority, and then we'd have more ground to regain than we do now, and probably wouldn't survive as a nation.

I highly recommend JoeofPA's essay at Aristophanes blog on the subject. Check it out!

BTW, always good to hear from you.:)

trv

Glad you enjoyed it as I did. JoeofPA is a great addition to Townhall!

Thanks for checking in!:)

Sheila

I'll be posting an essay on this general topic in a couple of days. Obviously, it's a high-profile issue, and I'm going to take another run at it.

But like you, I think the media hype about people "sitting out the election" is exactly that: hype.

As I've previously written, "all politics os local". And the only poll that counts takes place on Nov 7 (Nov 8 for Libs).

Heavy Stuff

My guts are firmly with BrianR. But i can afford it. LIke him, i have conservatives to vote for. How about FOWG, who lives in Rhode Island? For him, its Chaffee or a man he characterizes as a far left weirdo. I truly don't know what i would do THIS 7 Nov were i in his shoes. What i do know is conservatives must step up for conservatives in the primaries. Candidates are selected with what? 15% of the eligible voting pool? What's more, put money where your heart is. Return those RNC funding requests thinly disguised as questionaires without money and a quick message stating why. Write letters and emails. The turncoats will listen if enough people complain. Things happen so slowly and i see Brians danger of a slow slide to oblivion if changes are not made. there is room for difference of opinion on how to work to change direction. What a mess. God bless us all. Don't i wish the average voter would spend one tenth of the time and effort to vote positively, that the posters on TH do.

BrianR

I'll look forward to your essay!

Yup, think the MSM is at their usual...

I'm with you all politics is local...

I guess we will all be glued to the tube election night...:)

Pistol

Politics isn't always fun...but you're right about us doing the work, sending letters, making calls and bugging our representatives until they listen.

We've gotten a lot done, now we need to finish the job, we can't afford to go backwards, we must go forward! We won't always have the perfect candidates, but we can give e'm heck until they listen to us. At least we have most of the good guys who truly care about the future of the country.

As you say, may God bless us all, our President, the troops, and our country.

Good to hear from you!

BrianR

I'm not sure how you got 'capitulation' from my comment. In this election the only way I see Republican voters capitulating is if they don't show up and allow the Democrats to win.

If you don't like how your Senator or Congressman votes, you at least have a chance to change his voting patterns. If you ensure he's replaced by a Democrat, even that chance vanishes.

Great Post...

Well.. our national birth rate is one tick over zero, we are not repopulating right... with our borders open, and Dms taxing us to infifnity -- our dollar off the Gold Standard, and our debt mounting quicker than we can settle the "entitlements" issue... Well; I am posed to day we are heading for for that, but remember Roger Bartons words... "... communisism is the goal"

-That Darn Republican

Scatbug: In answer to your question

In about 5 minutes, I'm posting my new essay: "On War and Partisan Politics". Maybe that will answer your question.

Sheila: I'll send you a residuals check for my blog ad on your blog.

LOL

That Darn Republican

"communism is the goal"...the Left is marching lock step in that direction.

If we do our part and don't cave to the pressure we can hold back the march...we must hold onto the majority and work to continue the conservative cause, so that what we've accomplished won't be reversed, and we can continue turning the country around.

Thanks for checking in, I appreciate hearing your thoughts.

BrianR,

I'll be waiting for the check!...:)LOL

I was going to make a comment

to the effect of 'look how well socialism has worked around the world: Cuba, China, North Korea ... Yeah, I want their quality of life.'

Then I realized that many others have effectively made the same point here. The only thing left to say is, "You know, they're right. I really do selfishly keep too much of the money that I earn..."

ChrisBare: Yeah...I agree

I am a shameful person for simply wanting to keep that filthy lucre for myself. Like you, I've seen the light and been saved from my selfish ways.

Hey, Christian, let's you and I pool all our savings, cash in our 401(k)s, tell our kids to kiss off, sell our houses, and go open up a soup kitchen somewhere for poor misdirected druggies.

Heh heh heh

You know, it's funny how Lefties are always so generous with OTHER people's money, like Bono trying to talk the Brits or whatever country he currently lives in to increase money giving to Africa (which is, of course, OP money from taxes) while at the same time relocating to Ireland where the taxes are lower.

Ah, yes, a truly inspiring story.

Sheila

Now that we've all switched sidesand there is nobody here but us socialists, its finally time for me to unveil my solution to the oncoming social security bankruptcy. As soon as anyone reaches the age of 65, they get a complete free physical. All the healthy people who are likely to live a long time and cost a lot of money are euthanized. This leaves only the feeble who can be relied upon to live short additional lives. Now will that put the SS system back on its feet or not? Those who don't care for this solution can get out at age 64 and migrate somewhere else. Of course they lose their pension, no more checks outside the US. You can see the Socialists can use some new blood. They should have come up with this solution long ago.

Pistol!

You da man!

Thanks for making my day! You are truly a thinking man! "The Solution"...it makes total sense, why haven't we done this before? Here we have been worrying about giving people more control of their money! It would have required people letting go of the meager SS earnings and actually making a nice retirement..we were wrong all along!

I am cracking up, Pistol...you have come up with the ultimate Socialist solution!...:)

Thanks for your brilliance!
