Our school system and society has been infiltrated by those that think losing causes low self esteem, and challenging a student is cruel. Winners are born from original failure, and the challenge to rise above such failure - our governmental leaders, societal figures, and school systems seem not to understand that.

Being a retired Marine I couldn't agree more with you more about the analogy you used. Some day, soon I hope, some president who has a pair will abolish the Department of Education and throw the spotlight of public opinion on the teachers unions. I find it depressing that 50% of the country buys in to that politically correct BS! I used to go to bed every night certain I would wake up the next day in the national headlines portrayed as the insensitive Gunny Hartman of English teachers!
