HERETICS IN LAMB'S CLOTHING

Jesus was eaten by dogs????

Never heard that one before. I am reminded of Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. That too fits in with what you've written.

Good work Jesse. Keep it up.

While I agree with your hypothis, I am one who lives my life as God would intend it, not predicting when Jesus will return, because even the Angels in Heaven will not know. I am concerned however, and disclosure I will say I am a Christian of the Bible Church do not want us to segregate ourselves from Catholic vs Protestants because we all believe in the Lord and we all fall short of the Glory of God. By segregating ourselves, we allow the trans-nationalist, progressives and athiest to tear us down and take away our beliefs. All faiths who value God both Jew, Christian, etc should stand together as brothers and sisters for the sanctity of our rights to practice our beliefs. Good job!

Yeah, it's pretty repugnant. That is another verse I could have used. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

I'm not anti-Catholic as Catholic people. We are all brothers in Christ. I am against their doctrine because Jesus is. I am also against many of their teachers, but I am against many of the other denominational teachers because Jesus is. I do no represent nor teach from any denominational point of view. In many of my other religious posts I take on Christian traditional teaching doctrine and use God's word to prove it. I do not add anything. I do not take away anything. That's when our teachers start going down the wrong path is when they add their own meanings and words to what God says.

We are not to know when the time is coming beforehand, but we are given the signs. Given the signs that are written, it is very near. I believe my purpose here is due to the time we are living. Thanks for reading and commenting. You're welcome anytime.

Without getting into a doctrinal debate, I'm personally offended, as a practicing Catholic. While I don't deny that there may be false prophets (in ALL denominations), it seems you are painting with a broad brush. I have never heard any of the things you mention, and, trust me, I've been paying attention to what the Church has been putting out. I don't recall any priest I've ever heard adding or taking away from Scripture.

Preach the strength of your belief, not your judgement of others.

Jesse

Furthermore, in reviewing Westar's site (they are the sponsors of the Jesus Seminars) and the Wiki page relating to this event, there is no mention of Catholocism, or any Catholic priests (besides John Crossan, an ex-priest and one of the founders), or speakers. Every church listed in their directory is Protestant, including a Universalist "church" down the street from me where I vote. That's disturbing, and a bit ironic.
Why you portray this event as something distinctly Catholic is beyond me. I guarantee any practicing Catholic found to be associating with this group has no sanction from the Vatican and would truly be viewed as a heretic, and a Catholic in name only.

A clarification is in order.

I'll see if Youtube has the video, but I saw much of the Jesus Seminar years ago and there were high ranking priests there. I doubt it would be there since it was such an under the radar video I saw, but I did see it for myself. I didn't take the word of it from anyone else.

I don't mean to offend Catholics and I'm sure a lot of Catholics would be offended at what I wrote. I have studied Catholic doctrine quite a bit, and I know the Church of Ephesus is the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is know as the church of Peter, and he was martyred in Ephesus. According to St. Malachy himself, he said that the last pope will betray the faith. After the last pope, there will be no more Catholic church. According to the names given by St. Malachy, there is only one left and he will be named Pope Petrus Romanus. According to St. Malachy, he will be the one to betray the faith. For him to be appointed as the Pope, there must be problems within the Catholic Church's hierarchy. I don't know what luck you'll have in finding the video of the Jesus Seminars, but you can definitely check out St. Malachy's prophecies about the last pope. Didn't mean to offend you, or anyone, but that's the way it's going to be. Our teachers are going to fail us to a great deal. Only two churches of Christ Jesus finds no fault in. I think that says a lot about our teachers.

"is known as the church of Peter"

Jesse

The Prophecy Of St. Malachy is a pretty thin hook to be hanging all of this on. Bottom line, the Jesus Seminars are attended by and run by members of any number of denominations, nearly all Protestant, and should be viewed for what they are...fringe extremists. This is truly disappointing.

Sgt. Stryker

I don't think it's a thin hook at all. If you look, there is only one church that Jesus threatens to remove, and that is the church of Ephesus. The point of the blog was to say that all teachers of all denominations are going to fail us. That's why I pointed out that Jesus was against five of the seven churches of Christ. In previous blogs I've taken to task baptist teaching as well. I only go by what is written. As I said to Freemanredneck, when teachers and/or denominational doctrine starts adding words and making up their own versions of Christianity, then that's where they go wrong. The Catholic Church certainly has done that. They put a lot more emphasis on ceremony than teaching God's word, and that's why Jesus is against them. They have left their first love because they do not do their first works, even though he knows their tireless work in other areas, such as charity. They took powers away from God and put it into the hands of men. They came up with Purgatory even though the Bible did not. They bow to idols, whether it be of Jesus or Mary. Either way it's wrong. It doesn't matter what the idol is of, it matters that it was made by the hands of sinful men and men should not worship the work of the hands of men. Putting in charge other men to forgive sin. Saying "Mary, mother of God". These are all wrong because it's written it's wrong. There is a reason why Jesus threatens to remove the church of Ephesus. It doesn't matter what I write. Read what is written. Jesus will remove the church of Ephesus from its place, so you have to ask yourself why.
