I can see that I need to learn a lot more European history. Even though different in most aspects, there are cause and effect relationships that lend more understanding to where we are now, and how we have come to be here.
I'll count on you to provide what you see as necessary in that regard.
I usually come to the same conclusions you do regarding the future of America, I just don't always know exactly why.
I'll keep reading, though.
Thanks VB.

That's because you're smarter.
Just imagine how much you'll know when you're fifty, if you keep at it.
Everything is about a person looks at a thing. You'll hear us say that a lot.
The left has despised everything the Constitution has stood for for over 100 years, so while often a lie factually, it's only natural that they would present, history, sociology, a whole host of academic discipline from their world view.
Try finding history of Arab-Israeili relationships by someone other than a fellow named abdullah or Feinstein. Hard to find, and in the days of Wikipedia, even the "facts" often aren't true. People dissemble because they can get away with it.
That makwes your job even harder. I) to have to figure out the truth as best you can. 2) to wash the mouth out with soap of the liar who tried to tell you different.
I never read American history written after 1965 (although I am sure there are some good ones) Commager's 2 vols are best. As for European history, there are dozens from before WWI. Scholarship from 1890-1940 in America was the best in the world. Fewer between the wars. Euro Political history is another thing, as Euro political parties and the terms left-right, conservative, liberal etc don't quite square up with ours. We'll have a piece on that soon, but it's not academic, just our perspective.
Look for your pics later today
Cheers

The law is used these days to either bring in revenue for Our Keepers or eliminate undesirables that might interfere with their existence.

The more I read the more impressed I am.
I like your "outsider looking in" view on our struggle against the left and socialism in general.
Sometimes I think we all become blind to the subtle tactics employed by the socialists. You hear something, you get a funny feeling that what you heard is not right, but you continue on dismissing the subject as not important. Pretty soon all of those earlier unimportant subjects add up to a big problem.
Thanks for opening our eyes.

The business of Government...
...has always been making money. To accrue money and power is the nature of politicians, and also bureaucracies. The founders even realized this.
We let 'em do it. And we've left it to our kids and grandkids the task of taking it back in a much less gentle manner than we could have ourselves.
I always appreciate you looking in.
I was just talking with some men last night about what happens when two people with two irreconcilable views of life, the world, religion, everything, live along side one another. One just wants to leave the other alone. Live and Let live. But the other can't stand the idea of all those terrible ungodly things going on so close by, and sets out to destroy the other.
If you're the live and let live sort of person, what do you do?
I have my answers, and surrender is not among my options, but I can't speak for you. The point is, the other fellow just named the stakes: destroy or be destroyed, which, quite frankly, is not part of our nature.
Am I speaking of how radical Islamists view the West or how modern Leftists view the Constitution, free markets and individual liberty. Pretty similar huh?
So don't you think the way Baptists look at fornicators, or Mormons look at homosexuality, when all they want to do is talk those things down, not make illegal, not kill anyone, sort of pales by comparison?
When someone wants to destroy you you have to keep your eye on the ball.
That's all we try to do here.
Cheers
