GOP HAS NO FRANKLIN IN ITS MIDST EITHER

Ben is my favorite of the founders. Maybe it's our names, Ben Franklin and Glenn Franklin. Or maybe I relate to the electrical genius in him. It could be his mastery of the King's English, or his wit and charm.

But, if I had to bet on it, I'd lay odds that my admiration is born from the fact that he, selflessly, attended every session that he could get to, even when not a delegate. He was the at the tiller chiding, comforting, exhorting, cajolling, and all in their time and place to effect the outcome that we have all enjoyed since.

John Adams, Ben, T. Jefferson, Madison, and Washington were all necessary for the job to be done. But, it was Dr. Ben who saw to it that the result was the very best man could do.

I hate to thank of Franklin as a management tool, but that's what's missing in meetings, in private business, corporate, as well political assemblages; there has to be one person there who is always in tune with the "mission" so as to keep everyone on the same page.
