Sangrun

Thanks for the compliment. Did you like your character?

Yes

I like the character, perfect for me. Glad you included me in on your fun.

Sangrun

No problem. Glad to have you in on the fun. And, we do have some fun here on this blog. Ha! Ha!

I thought you'd like how I portrayed you. I guess I know ya pretty well. LOL

Pretty cool

At least KO has some gonads. That's good. Otherwise, it's all too easy.

Pretty funny characterization of Matthews.

BrianR

Thanks. Well, either gonads or just a big mouth.

Sangrun

Welcome aboard. It's nice to have a secretive black ops type on our side. This was a great chapter.

Iron grip? ...Iron grip?!

Now I KNOW this is fiction. LOL

Olberman w/gonads? Hah!

But I am glad to be able to use some tools of the trade.

Thanks, Pep, for including me in the fun.

Who's next?

Liberals and Chocolate bars?

LOL! Now that was funny Pep! And I have no doubt in my mind that's how shallow they are. Good one Pep!

Yo Pepp

Poor ole' Kritz and Kayo. If they ever get a chance to read this chapter, I think they'd go bananas. Dat der Sangrun he one bad motorcycle. He'd make a good hit man for dem der bad motorcyles. (your Mossad).
Too bad there's no way to e-mail this chapter to Kritz and Kayo.

Purplegimp

Thanks. A black ops guy. Hmm. I do believe Sangrun would love that!

Paulie

Ha! Ha! Olbermann just has one big mouth. He's a blowhard and gonads is questionable.

Who's next? I haven't killed these two clowns off just yet. I just was setting up the scene for their capture. Next, they go before the court, if they make it to Tennessee.

Goshawk

Glad you got some laughs. I also believe libs are very shallow. Not much deep thinking goes on in those little, demented brains of theirs.

WilliBeax

LOL! Yep, that Sangrun is one ruthless dude, but he's on our side, so that is very good.

The two clowns would report me if they saw this chapter, no doubt. I already have two libvermin who want me reported to the FBI.

Best for the fiction to stay here. LOL

Peppermint

I thought maybe the house had an echo, because its amazing anyone could be heard over Mathews. But considering it was Olbermann, I understand why. Olbermann gagged? That is a riot.

Good chapter. Turbo-lips Mathews likely wondering how he could spin this. (Insticts you know) KO couldn't crumple and throw his papers. He must have suffered a neurosis withdrawal.

xpressit

Wait until you see KO in court before Chief Justice Ann. I have some plans for that.

Thanks, glad you liked the chapter. Matthews is all talk, when faced with any real situation he turns to jello.

Pepp

I think you're giving the Olberman character too much power. I'd see him curled in a corner gnawing on his own ankle.

Powerful stuff.

Davecatbone

LOL! That's how you saw it? He's just a big mouth. You saw how he shut up real quick with just a look.
Thanks for coming by.

Peppermint

Awesome chapter. I loved the bit about the heads with snickers bars in their mouths. So with mouths that big...would that be the king sized ones? Great work can't wait to see if Mathews can make the trip with out passing out from fright a few times.

Ok, reporting back for duty!

Had a swell time on R&R. When do I get another assignment? I just bought a Glock .45 this morning and I'm itching to use it. Traded in my crossbow. To bulky and so hard to kock (no, that is not a typo. The real word is banned).

Raging Bunny

Thanks. Yes, those were the giant size Snickers bars stuck in their mouths. LOL

Yeah, Matthews could have some problems along the way. He's such a whiner.

PPhil

OK. Well, we'll have to see what we can come up with for you to do. There's plenty of socialist searches to do. And, I know what the word is and I know it is banned. Some words you think would be perfectly OK to use get banned here.

BTW

You are wasting your time with Sandra. If you don't agree with her, you get an "F". She just can't operate in the real world where she is not God. If the rules of the universe don't support what she wants to believe, NEW RULES! Don't get me started on Sanity102. The only reason I leave comments there is that I keep stumbling in because of comments on the "Your Blogs" page. I should just back out but sometimes I can't control myself.

PPhil

Yeah, I know about the rules of engagement there.
I got an F and I know I won't ever pass. LOL
That's OK. I don't need to pass the grade on that one.

Phil

I was going to post on the racist thing at Brian's that I grew up in an all white neighborhood, but we went to church every Sunday at an all black church.

I recall the 6 of us of my family sitting there among all the blacks, the only whites in the church and never feeling out of place. Now is that not a laugh?

My grandparents grew up in downtown Cinti and they wanted to continue to go the church they had always gone to while living there. So every Sunday my dad drove us back down to that church.

I never thought it was odd in any way. Goes to show you how kids, if left to their own thoughts, don't get racist.

To Purplegimp (black ops)

If and and when needed is what I say, if and when needed...

Plenty more of me where I come from too.

Hehe....

Sangrun

Nice to see you come back. Looks like you've got something cooking.

Pep

One of the things I volunteer for, besides being a white suiter at the Tournament of Roses Parade, is being on stage crew for the Pasadena Shakespeare League and this year, we staged "South Pacific". One of the songs that never goes obsolete is "You Have To Be Taught" as in "you have to be carefully taught to hate the same things your parents hate". Hate is learned. There is plenty of that going on here and throughout the blogosphere, left and right.

PPhil

You are right. Hate is taught. I just read your post over at Sandra's. A lot of people actually believed me about shooting down illegals on the border. I just posted the most right wing extremist thing I could think of on Sandra's column to stir the pot up and get things going. It sure did.

Pep

I don't know if you noticed, but Sandra just posted her "good-bye" post. I spent almost an hour writing a comment that disappeared when I posted it. I think she is trying to do the impossible but isn't listening to anynoe who doesn't agree with her. I can't possible reconstruct what I wrote but I asked her to e-mail me. Maybe it isn't my fault but I feel guilty. I don't agree with her but I'm not trying to blow people out of the water. I'm not trying to "win", I'm just trying to get thoughtful people to engage in thoughtful conversation so we can all figure it out.

Phil

You are not responsible for her closing shop. She asked for solutions to the problem and she didn't like the answers. If you don't want to hear it don't ask.

I feel bad for Sandra too. She has become too emotional over the issue instead of looking at it logically. She's been saying that other people are emotional about it, but she has been the most upset person because people are not agreeing with her.

Phil

That's why I used the tactic I did. It was kind of like hitting someone over the head with a baseball bat to get their attention: We've got a problem and it is not going away, not with what is going on in DC.

Pep

I hope your right. I don't post much to her blog because it is like walking in quicksand. But she quit minutes after I posted my last comment so I felt like I was the last straw. I sure didn't help.

Phil

I had a guy who used to come here chew me a new one for posting what he considered childish crapola with my diary series. I told him that was fine by me, that not everyone was going to like this diary series and the satire.

I didn't close up shop over it. I get criticized about how I should be reported to the FBI and any number of things.

You were not the only poster who disagreed with her, but you were the only one who said you don't like going there any more.

I had the same experience. The guy has never been back. But, that's the way it goes. I wasn't going to roll over and close down my blog over it.

Pep

I have a feeling Sandra will be back. No one is THAT fragile. If she can't follow the logic to places she wasn't prepared to go, maybe she isn't really looking for truth. There's a difference between being strong and being stubborn. I hope she isn't too emotionally invested in "W". Life is too short.

Noone has been...

...more insulted than me. I was put in bed with Sheehag.

I'll never forgive you for that, Peppermint.

PPhil

I don't know what is going on for Sandra. She may just be having other issues and this just really got to her. She is very invested in GW. You can tell that from the farewell message.

She'll probably be back. She just needs to take a break from it. This issue of illegal immigration is such a hot button issue for everyone.

Aw Jimmy

You mean you're still holding that against me?
How can I redeem myself and get back into your good graces?

An affair with:

Gunny's very Own Chief Justice Coulter.

LOL, Phil

Hey, no one's arm is being twisted to force them to write a blog. You, me, Pepp, Jimmy, Cyne, Flagwaver, Goshawk, GunnyG, a bunch of us have all been called names, lots of times, by people on both sides of the fence. Big whoop. It's part of the game.

Christ, if I got to sobbing every time I got called a name, I'd have my clothes dryer running full time on towels.

I've been called everything from a Neandertal absolutist to a Democrat plant, both by the same person, funnily enough.

Of all the possible topics under the sun she could have written about, SHE chose the single most divisive and emotionally-charged one there is, and chose the least popular side to come down on. How could she NOT expect to get raked over the coals?

If all she was looking for was agreement, she should have written about how cute puppies are or something.

I write controversial stuff all the time, as do you, both on our blogs and the columns. So does everyone else I named above. We also all stand up for what we've written, take our lumps and dish them out, hopefully have some fun doing it (I love my high lib body count), and move on looking for new targets. That's just the way it is.

The world is filled with two types of animals: predators and prey. It doesn't work out too well when tha latter thinks it's the former.

Jimmy

LOL! GunnyG would kill you! Now how would that work out in the story? GunnyG searching you out ready to shoot you down the minute he laid eyes on you?

That would be a hard one to write.

BrianR

I hear you. I'm not going soft. I have my helmet on at all times. I just suspect that she read more into my comments about "investigating" Steve Maloney and might have gotten scared off that I go around snooping into people's lives. That's kind of creepy and I don't do it unless someone makes it personal. Pep tipped me off that Steve might be planning on "exposing" my racism and I am afraid my answer might have inadvertently spilled over into Sandra's space. I'm not that petty. I stand by my comments but I really don't want to make it personal with anyone.

Hahahaha!

REAL drama!

That would be pretty cool. Kinda got that whole Mutiny on the Bounty thing going.

Phil

I read it all. Don't sweat it. You're seeing a non-existent issue.

BTW BrianR

I get the feeling that we may not be hearing too much from Steve and Bruce from here on out. I may be wrong but I get the feeling that they are "disappointed" to find that we are too dense to absorb their liberating message. We just aren't sufficiently evolved to appreciate the greatness that is Rudy.

BTW, my Bounty comment

was directed at Pepp and Jimmy.

Just be sure to add..

...how much better I am than Gunny and it will be well worth it!

LOL, Phil

I was e-talking with Pepp earlier about that. I went by the site, and was almost knocked over by the wind howling through the deserted streets, pelting me with tumbleweed.

Hey Brian..

..."..I'd have my clothes dryer running full time on towels."

I can't tell you I much it hurt laughing at that line!

Still cracks me up!

Jimmy

ROTFLMAO! Now just how do I get that part in the story and get it by the lovely TH censors?

I'd have to conjure up something out of the Harlequin novels I daresay. Hmmmm....

I made a comment...

..over at Steve's place and I was the only one that I noticed he didn't respond to.

Jimmy

That's because you are on the DNA list for Steve Baloney. He won't respond to those who are "extreme".

Pepp: Some suggestions for Jimmy

"Heaving bosoms"

Bodice-ripping.

"A manly swelling"

"His stiffening.... neck"

Yeah, that's enough to getcha started.

Jimmy

Brian has another one that cracks me up, "folding like a cheap tent".

Jimmy: LOL

He probably can't believe anyone actually left a comment. They're still trying to bring him back to consciousness.

Steve Maloney

Biggest frog in a very small pond. I did a google search about Ambridge and discovered that I would be one of the six wealthiest people in that town. That gets me nowhere out here but I could still afford to take a plane to fly to his lily-white town and introducee myself personally if he decided to call me a racist in writing. A legend in his own mind. Small town bully.

Have me make her...

...scream for a liberal to save her from the "torture!"

Hey Brian..

...at least anybody not named "Bruth."

Sangrun, Raging Bunny

Black ops types are always in demand. Glad to have you on board.
RB, Just thinking of Snickers in those mouths had me laughing out loud for hours. I can just imagine you reading that!

BrianR

OMG! You are cracking me up.

he touched her glistening skin

she crescendoed into one glorious shout for heaven

he lay back depleted of all manly juices

Phil: Heh heh heh

Yeah, I actually know that little burg, as my company's based in that neck of the woods. One-stoplight type of place, a wide spot in the road.

Hey, don't sweat it. If you'd ever seen the place, you'd actually cut the guy some slack. He must have been a veeeeery bad boy in a previous life.

More suggestions for Jimmy

"tight at the seam"

Jimmy, Pepp

Jimmy, you sure that's not "Bruthie"?

Pepp, stop, araaarghhhh....!

They lay sated and entwined in the dampened sheets.

Harlequin, get ready, here we ...ahem.... come.

I'm sitting here cracking up

This is a riot in a semi-gross kind of way.

Maybe not even "semi".

Phil

Steve's place is like a ghetto with a lot of garbage floating around.

It's been a long time

since I read one of those novels. Brian, you seem to be pretty up to date on it. LOL

So, I see..

...Peppermint's back to immigration.

Jimmy

Where do you want this affair to take place? You have your choices of barns and fields and any other open area. Pray tell, what is to your liking?

Pepp: Hey,

I like to think I'm a pretty creative guy!

A true legend in my own mind.

Barns? Fields?

I guess it's gonna be dirty sex.

Starw in your shorts

and sand in your....

whatever.

Brian

You sure got that second part right. LOL

Brian

The dirtier the better. I want to go all out for Jimmy.

Buenos Noches, all

I gotta get some Zs.

Libdragons to slay tomorrow, and all that.

Good Night, Everybody!

Don't forget to tip your waitress! I'll be here all weekend, twice on Sunday.

Jimmy

Are you still on?

I was just wondering if this was any good for you.

Peppermint

Thanks for finally writing this. Thats the problem with reading cliffhangers, younever know how long you'll be hanging from that cliff.

Dan

I know. It's a bummer waiting for the next episode in series.
You are quite welcome and I'm glad to hear from you.
Thanks for coming by.

Memorial Day

To all the vets who post on this blog. Thank you for your service to our country and happy Memorial Day.
An ole Korean War Vet

Willi: Best of Memorial Day

to you, too, my friend.

WilliBeax and to all vets

thank you for your service to our country. You are in my prayers today and always. God bless all of you.

sangrun

Welcome to the party.

Since it was KO that we found with Puffie, I'm surprised they were both clothed and there wasn't any Vasoline on the nightstand.

Do we really need to drag these loooosers back to Tennessee? While I'd prefer to be back down South, I think the huntin' might be better up North. Have Gunny's wife send the verdicts to us, since I know she's already written the majority opinion.

What to do with the movie, now that it's in our hands? Anybody want to re-edit it?

Jimmy and Gunny's wife

Just don't make it on a beach....it ain't worth the sandpapered peckor. (let's see if that spelling makes it past the censors)

My wife could give ya a hand writing that scene. She goes through what she calls "dead-brain books" at the rate of 3-5 per week.

Crawfish

Well, one doesn't really know yet whether certain people make it back to Tennessee. Things can happen unexpectedly.

And, I actually did think of what you wrote there about "something" on the nightstand, but thought that would be sooooo tawdry. But, with the two of them so possible.

Your second comment I am surprised did make it through the TH police. You got lucky there. LOL
Yeah, beaches are NOT a good place for "certain" activities.

Your wife loves those books? Hmmm...

Oh Crawfish

Gunny has already told me what to do if someone fools with his wife. It ain't pretty.

Memorial Day

I just wanted to thanks all those who served in the past to make it possible for me to have served in my lifetime. Thank You

Raging Bunny

Thank you for your service. You are a true patriot in every sense of the word.

Peppermint

Olbermann buying the farm! Sweet music to my ears. Speaking of ears, mess with my babydoll and YOUR ears will be adorning the wall right next to my other souveneirs.

Someone needs to find a nice ant pile for Olbermann.

Jimmy Carter

"Just be sure to add...how much better I am than Gunny and it will be well worth it!"

I'm wondering if Ann will denut you or should I? Maybe we'll just stuff you in the kennels after a blowtorch session. My Rotts like their meat raw OR cooked. Makes no difference to them.

GunnyG

LOL! Olbermann will get his and it won't be pretty.

Pep

You might want to check in with Jevica at A Conservative Man. I hope he had the courtesy of giving you and BrianR a "heads up".

PPhil

No I know nothing about it.

Pep

Jevica posted about Sandra closing shop and blaming haters like you and BrianR. No mention of Sandra's own hatred and inability to incorporate responses into the conversation. Sanity102 is adding her usual "make-up-your-own-facts" comments. Sounds very "sour grapes" to me. It's all about winning arguments with them, not about having a conversation. If they lose, even though no one else is playing, it's because their "opponent" is being mean and unfair. Take a peak. Really childish.

PPhil

I just read it. So, what does jevica suggest, shut down free speech? We're supposed to agree with Bush on everything? That's not how it works here in the US. We have the freedom to speak our minds.

I guess we're supposed to agree with them or we are "Bush haters"? I've agreed with Bush on many things. But I don't agree with this immigration bill. Geesh, when did this become a socialist site?

Pep

Apparently, TH used to be a "fun" place populated by only "nice" people before us fact-based people who can actually listen to what others say stepped in. Sandra left a post yesterday at Steve Maloney's desolate, wind-blown site bemoaning what has happened to TH since Hugh Hewitt "took over" bringing along al of us "haters". I feel slighted. Only two days ago I was dismayed that I might have been the last straw with Sandra. I didn't even get a message. Hasn't she read the comments where I'm accused of being a knuckle-dragging, absolutist bigot? These people should get out more, see things, listen to others, relax. It's not about winning arguments.

Hey, all

New essay at the Island.

PPhil

Nice people? Huh! Well, I guess if you disagree with someone on an issue that suddenly makes you evil? or hate mongering?

Incredible!

What is even funnier I don't even read Hewitt.

Facts of life

For some a matter of opinion is only my opinions and what I'm taught to believe in rules. It doesn't matter what ***I've*** been taught.

Bradford started his own blog. I read one article on the torture of the pure innocents.......course true to life I answered and he never responded...my answer to his..PC... article is below...***All soldiers are animals...IHO***...um...yeah...grabs beer and pets stray cat...

Brad
You have to ask...how many were actually polled. Is this a 100% consensus? Or is this just a poll based on "Oh look at them standing there glaring at those people?". The thing about polls...and I have said this before, they aren't accurate. They don't ask ALL those involved. Did the people that were polled just come back from seeing their comrads blown up while they were conducting a patrol around a neighbourhood? Are these just regular GIs? Are they groomed? You really have to ask. What is the level of "torture"? Inhumane treatment is one thing...It is a fact that in the earlier Iraq war soldiers were told of the inhumane treatment from the """DEVIL""". I won't say there isn't torture on our side, but if you knew you had someone who had just killed several soldiers and civilians...would you give him a glass of milk and some cookies? A lawyer? How about a feather bed and all the legal aid he could get? If you knew, or suspected he knew, where the next attack was to take place..how would you act? You're family is going into a "hot" zone that he knows will be or won't be attacked, are you going to be nice to him? The military is like family, you aren't gonna send your kids into a busy street.

Pasadena Phil..TH and the world are nice places, you have the right to agree or disagree. I have agreements and disagereement with people but I think I know you agree..or I hope all others believe it...The world should be a place of free choices, not those imposed. Ideas imposed are those forced and I am one who has been raised NOT to bend down on bended knees..not even for those in charge. Those who take charge by force are those who think they are GOD. The only God I believe in is the one I have been raised to believe in. I won't get into my personal beliefs...my God is my freedom... but that is America and all free countries, Freedom. Freedom is choice, freedom is belief. If you choose to believe you choose freedom. If you choose to follow blindely then you will be led where others lead you. I don't even leash my dog. Don't leash me. If you can't accept what others believe then don't ask WHAT others believe. It isn't possible to get the "right" answer.

Raging Bunny

I agree with everything you said. If I thought I knew everything, I wouldn't have named my blog TheWayWeAre. It comes from a very famous quote.

You always know when people aren't listening, they start telling you what YOU just said and try to make their version stick like it was a Freudian slip. When people tell me I'm in a conversation with someone in real life and that person accuses me I'm not listening, I ask them if they want to switch roles. I can almost always argue their case better than they can which makes them forget the point of the exercise almost immediately. I'm a very good listener. I'm not trying to win. I'm trying to figure it out with everyone else.

PPhil

I so agree with what you said. I hate when people take my words and interpret them in their own way, completely twisting what I said.

I am particularly disturbed over the immigration debate and getting the terms racist, xenophobia and other things thrown at people who are against this bill.

It's dishonest debate. The mission of throwing that race card out serves only an attempt to diminish the person in the eyes of others. It only serves to shut down speech. It's a liberal tactic for goodness sake.

Lots of very thoughtful comments here

That's what great about TH and Powerline. If you have the patience to bypass the trolls and other pontificators with rigid agendas, there are plenty of people to help think things through. I was just re-reading Raging Bunny's comment and his(?) freedom/choice discussion made me think. Life is simple if you focus on doing what is right rather than what is legal. You can't have a free society when most people can't tell the difference and live their entire lives hovering on the edge of legality. That is why we have so many lawyers. We really do need them. We have lost our appreciation for virtuous citizens.

PPhil

Raging Bunny is a she.

I go by what is ethical and moral. If that doesn't work I can consult someone.

I don't have all the answers either. And, I don't pretend to know. Anyone that does has a big problem.

I do know when I see something that is wrong.

I think I can figure out when something is unethical or immoral.

There is too much blurring done today on both. I think that is why so many people have a problem today figuring things out. Everything is blurred for them.

Hey PPhil..

...."..You can't have a free society when most people can't tell the difference and live their entire lives hovering on the edge of legality. That's why we have so many lawyers."

We may be on to something. This is exactly what Sandra brought up on her site: Concern what the aclu would do if We were to do "xyz" about immigration. Living Our lives in fear of being sued.

Freedom is a state of mind

Figuring what is the right thing to do is the easy part. In free societies, the laws and ethos don't get in the way. In corrupt societies, like ours, you get sued. That is why it takes courage to create and defend a free society. That is what our founding fathers preached. So did Henry Thoreau, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi and others. There is such a thing as moral outrage. Where is the outrage? Look at the news? Liberalism is so cynical that a Romney can be laughed off by snidely commenting that "he is too good to be true" and so he is hiding something. We have the government we have because we don't deserve better. That is why I am on TH. I am hoping that a bunch of us can put the words together to start something that can take on a life of its own and turn the tide. The blogosphere is wide-open and many people read this stuff. I am betting that most Americans support the traditional, historical America and find what is going on very disturbing. They can't put it into words and that is what we need to do. Find the words that make the connection between that queasy feeling and observed reality. It doesn't take much if you get it right.

JimmyCarter

I recall seeing that aclu comment. I'm sick of that argument. It's time for us to take back our country from outfits such as the aclu.

PPhil

"Find the words that make the connection between that queasy feeling and observed reality. It doesn't take much if you get it right."

Very good analysis. Find the words. How many have tried so many times? It is as if it falls on deaf ears.

I'm not about to give up though.

PPhil

Had another thought on that.

It seems to me that "words" don't change many people's minds.

It has to be action or an event that occurs before some can see around them.

Too many people live in denial. It is almost impossible to break through that denial, it being so embedded into the minds of those inflicted with it.

Raging Bunny

"Don't leash me. If you can't accept what others believe then don't ask WHAT others believe. It isn't possible to get the "right" answer."

I, like Phil, have read and re-read your post. There was a lot to digest and i didn't want to respond until I had digested it.

The above quoted paragraph hit me.

"If you can't accept what others believe then don't ask what others believe."

Exactly, in a nutshell.

For myself, I don't care what others believe. I also know that I am not going to change anyone's mind on something simply because I believe it to be a different way than they believe.

I believe what I believe and that is good enough for me. Can my mind be changed? Yes it can. But only through my own process. My mind will not be changed by someone hammering me over the head, calling me names, or demeaning me over my beliefs. It doesn't work like that.

I don't usually ask what someone believes because quite frankly I don't care. I know that sounds odd to some, but it has saved me from becoming embroiled in round robin, nowhere arguments.

It all boils down to "who is in control"?

Only we control ourselves, no one else. If you think you have control over someone else you are in big trouble emotionally.

And, there is no right answer as you stated. There are only answers. Then there are more questions and more answers. No two human beings are ever going to see something the exact same way.

Everyone's perceptions are different depending on what baggage you carry around, what your environment is, what your economical/social situation is and how that has influenced your life.

Everyone has a different experience in living life. Life is tough, it's sorrow, it's learning, and it's taking risk.

If you have to ask someone else what they believe you must ask yourself why are you asking. Why do you care? What is your motive for asking?

If you cannot ask without judging that individual then it is best not to ask. You will never hear what you want to hear.

End of my essay...

Peppermint

I don't usually ask what someone believes because quite frankly I don't care. I know that sounds odd to some, but it has saved me from becoming embroiled in round robin, nowhere arguments.

No not odd, just sensible. I, like you don't ask. If some one wants to talk to me and tell me that's fine. Just don't cram it down my throat because you think my opinions are wromng. Funny thing is, opinions are never wrong. Just the facts can be a bit mis-guided.

The old saying that it's a matter of opinion could never hold truer. In all reality, that's what founded our country. Opinions that the old government was wrong. The facts...a lot of people didn't like the way the old country was run. Opinion..that they could do it better. Did they? That is a metter of opinion.

The day I learn my opinion is wrong will be the day I change my mind, not one minute before. That's what makes a free country so great, I won't get shot for disagreeing with the government, I will however get into trouble for breaking a law, thats fact, not opinion.

As I said before, I'm of the ounger generation..old enough to know better but young enough to see how many ways I can do it with out getting caught. IF you threw one thing on the table everyone would have a different opinion about it. That's freedom.

Yo Peppermint

Reply from my Senator Sherrod Brown

Dear Ms. *********

Thank you for contacting me about my views on the current immigration proposals being considered by Congress.

I have supported legislation to curb illegal immigration by increasing criminal penalties for alien smuggling and document fraud, eliminating the use of government documents that are easily forged, and doubling the number of border patrol guards. Better enforcement and tougher penalties for both undocumented immigrants and their lawbreaking employers are the way to fight unauthorized employment, and employment opportunities are what drive illegal immigration.

Unless we fix the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) and enforce our own labor laws, we will continue to debate how high the fence should be and how many agents should guard our border – with no real solution in sight. In 1994, the U.S. signed NAFTA, which promised, among other things, to help create a thriving middle class in Mexico. At that time there were 3 million undocumented workers in the U.S.; today there are more than 11 million. In Mexico, 9 million more live in poverty than when NAFTA was enacted. NAFTA has failed the U.S. and Mexico. By creating an atmosphere where Mexican citizens feel they have no chance of a successful life in Mexico, these ill-conceived trade agreements increase the number of illegal immigrants coming into our country.

In addition to addressing the forces that are compelling illegal immigration, we must take action to bring illegal immigrants out of the shadows. While I do not support amnesty and have serious concerns about guest worker programs, I do believe our nation should consider establishing a process by which illegal immigrants can eventually earn citizenship.

The solution to our immigration problem will not be a simple one, as many things in our country need to be fixed to stop illegal immigration. It is time to take a common sense approach to immigration reform. Thank you again for contacting me.

Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown

Amnesty Bill Poll: Americans don't want

like it, don't want it, not in its' present form:

http://www.numbersusa.com/hottopic/pulsepoll0507.html

It's Not Rocket Science

Peggy Noonan wrote a great piece. Just close the darn borders, period. Why won't these Liberal Morons like Brown open their pea brained Socialist minds. SHUT THE DOOR and CLOSE THE WINDOWS. That's how you keep bugs out. THEN we'll talk.

You got me fired up again Pepp, I'm going to have to call Brown's office again.

davecatbone

I'm going to do the same. Call his office.

That is right. There is no rocket science involved here. Shut the borders. Period.

These pols try to make it sound like it's hard. They aren't fooling anybody with this.

Peppermint

("What can Brown do for you?")While not a bad reply from Brown, it is way much better than a Clinton one. (you should see that drivel) He still suffers as all of them do under delusions about what is [to be] done. They say it needs new documentation methods. Well geez Louise, isn't that the problem and always was, lousy enforcement? (in the end)Now they throw this system into the mix; another problem coming like a train.

Hey Peppermint

Been a little while, so I'm stopping by to give ya a hug and say "Hi"! :)

celt

God, I can use the hug. I'm having a terrible day.
How did you know? Thanks so much. Hugs are hard to come by.

xpressit

It just demoralizes me to no end with the dolts we have running this country. If a company was run like this they would be out of business a long time ago.

I'm so fed up with the whole lot of them. The keep putting on the "dumb" act, or maybe it's not an act.
Either way, we are getting the shaft.

I can't wait to vote down these worms. Let them crawl back into the dung where they belong.

btw xpressit

I just received my GOP renewal for the RNC. Ha!
Like I'm going to send them money.

I wrote across the form and the letter: NO MONEY UNTIL YOU CLOSE THE BORDERS!!

I hope a lot of other people do the same. The nerve to ask for money when they do nothing to earn it!

Hey Peppermint

This is actually a reponse to the issue on Sandra's blog. I missed some of the debate just because I have a busy toddler, but I am basically in your corner on all this stuff and personally think more Americans should be like you.

I enjoy your comments on other blogs, even the drinking and naked-man-with-a-sack-over-his-head stories, hee hee.

A bit of hyperbole here and there makes debating fun, I don't mind extreme comments because I often think those ways but just don't say them. I'd like to bomb the entire nations of Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc rather than lose one US soldier, but I can't say that out loud. Oops.

I'm younger than you, still in my 30s (until next March), but I am ALSO fed up!

SquiddyPop

Thanks so much for coming by. Welcome and I hope you come back often!

I love having people come on with whatever their views are and you can feel free to say what's on your mind here. This is a free speech zone.

As far as bombing Syria, Iran, Iraq etc, into the stone age, I've said it myself many times. It's just the way you feel sometimes and the frustration gets beyond endurance at times. So you just pop off with it. I think it's good. It releases a lot of tension and anxiety. I've gotten blasted for it by posters on column threads but I don't care. Let them think what they want.

It also points to the fact that Americans are FED up like you said. So many of us are. And probably so many we don't know about because people are so used to keeping their mouths shut. I've found that so many places I go. And, if I let out some whopper I am always surprised how many agree but would have never said it. They don't want to offend anyone.

For myself I'm done with trying to make everyone happy or please everyone. It never works. We all have to stand up for what we believe and take a stand.

I'm glad you're in my corner, Squiddy, and many others too. And, thanks so much for the compliments. I was very flattered. It's always nice to have a young person look up to you.

I had a young man today hold my pop cartons for me at the deli. I couldn't hold them with my back problem. So I put them on the floor. I was in line with about 20 men. This young man offered to help me and I was thrilled. I thanked him profusely and told him how much I appreciated his kindness since it is so seldom displayed. He said, "aw shucks, ma'm it was nothing". I told him it wasn't nothing to me. It meant a lot.

I told him I have stood in line many times before with twenty robust men in line who have never offered to help. He was golden to me.

There are many, many good young people in this world, like yourself. You can see beyond your years. That is good to know.

Oh, and, I'm glad you enjoyed my younger days escapades. Those were the days!!

Pep

Yep Pepp

Funny, they want to rally and fundraise from the base (conservatives) while ignoring them.

xpressit

Yeah, the nerve!!

Just throw us over, ignore us, don't do anything we ask, go against everything the base wants, but give us your money!!

Laughable! Hysterical! Ludicrous! Inane! Stupid!

And, I bet my two senators think I'm kidding when I tell them that we all here in OH are going to vote them out if they pass that bill.

They got a big surprise coming. I haven't talked to anyone yet who lives around here who is for this bill.

When will they wake up?

Pepp

another great chapter, give KO a slow painful end. That dude gives me the creeps when ever I see him on the TV. something about his fidgeting and his glasses it makes me think of an automaton like at disney or something. Hope everyone had a safe and good Memorial day.

Yo Peppermint

I apologize for posting this e-mail and it's length that I received from a fellow vet because it is off the topic. I didn't hear the speech, but I thought it should be shared with my fellow vets and the other true patriotic Americans who are gravely concerned about the survival of our nation and Western Civilization. Unfortunately, most of the Dems and some of the Pubbies have their horse blinders on or are suffering from cranial rectilitus and are failing to hear or see what Newt is trying to convey.

"Sobering Words

We better start talking about the shape of the table now because this country doesn't have the stomach to face what is coming!

Gingrich Speech in New Hampshire. Apparently it is causing a firestorm.

NEWT GINGRICH: The third thing I want to talk about very briefly is the genuine danger of terrorism, in particular terrorists using weapons of mass destruction and weapons of mass murder, nuclear and biological weapons. And I want to suggest to you that right now we should be impaneling people to look seriously at a level of supervision that we would never dream of if it weren't for the scale of threat.

Let me give you two examples. When the British this summer arrested people who were planning to blow up ten airliners in one day, they arrested a couple who were going to use their six month old baby in order to hide the bomb as baby milk.

Now, if I come to you tonight and say that there are people on the planet who hate you, and they are 15-25 year old males who are willing to die as long as they get to kill you, I've simply described the warrior culture which has been true historically for 6 or 7 thousand years.

But, if I come to you and say that there is a couple that hates you so much that they will kill their six month old baby in order to kill you, I am describing a level of ferocity, and a level of savagery beyond anything we have tried to deal with.

And, what is truly frightening about the British experience is they are arresting British citizens, born in Britain, speaking English, who went to British schools, live in British housing, and have good jobs.

This is a serious long term war, and it will inevitably lead us to want to know what is said in every suspect place in the country, that will lead us to learn how to close down every website that is dangerous, and it will lead us to a very severe approach to people who advocate the killing of Americans and advocate the use of nuclear or biological weapons.

And, my prediction to you is that either before we lose a city, or if we are truly stupid, after we lose a city, we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the Internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech, and to go after people who want to kill us to stop them from recruiting people before they get to reach out and convince young people to destroy their lives while destroying us.

This is a serious problem that will lead to a serious debate about the first amendment, but I think that the national security threat of losing an American city to a nuclear weapon, or losing several million Americans to a biological attack is so real that we need to pro actively, now, develop the appropriate rules of engagement.

And, I further think that we should propose a Geneva convention for fighting terrorism which makes very clear that those who would fight outside the rules of law, those who would use weapons of mass destruction, and those who would target civilians are in fact subject to a totally different set of rules that allow us to protect civilization by defeating barbarism before it gains so much strength that it is truly horrendous.
This is a sober topic, but I think it is a topic we need a national dialogue about , and we need to get ahead of the curve rather than wait until actually we literary lose a city which could literally happen within the next decade if we are unfortunate. So

This is a very sober description of the Islamic terrorist threat we are faced with. We are NOW at war with a culture that wants, not to take over our land, but to KILL us, all-non Muslims, esp. Americans and Britons, and eventually ELIMINATE WESTERN CIVILIZATION

We must not put our heads in the sand and hope this is not true. It is true and we can not allow it to happen.

May be this is why Pres. Bush is so bull headed about the the War?

Could it be so many people see Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan as the trees but miss seeing the Islamic Movement as the forest?

In a way I hope Bush is wrong, but I'm afraid he is right."

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but perhaps some of the "fence sitters" who post here will begin to see what this war is all about.
An ole Korean War vet

Willi Beax

Scary as it is, it's true. The first amendment was not created to protect those who would use it to kill, maim or destroy the US or its citizens. I have nothing to hide, if the gubberment libs want to see my Garfield cartoons or worse yet my bad habits of fanfiction...let them if it will open their eyes to what is going on. My skeletons may be embarassing but not leathal. 9 times out of 10 those who complain the loudest are those hiding something. Freedom of speech does not mean who can take out the most people.

Pep

I've been very busy the past few days but I did leave a response to your comment on my site about the curious "twin spammers".

ch47jockey

Thanks for coming by. It's been awhile since we've seen you.
KO will get his. The problem I have with him is he acts like he has ADD or some other tic type thing, but put on. He's really weird and has far too high opinion of himself.

What is really funny he bashes O'Reilly all the time but KO can't get near OR's ratings. It just comes off as jealousy and sour grapes.

WilliBeax

Thanks for posting that speech. I think the speech was very appropriate. And, I don't mind you doing it.

Anyone can introduce a subject here that they may want to discuss. Free speech zone here.

Raging Bunny

Your post to WilliBeax is an excellent point. Very well said.

PPhil

I like your term "curious" twin spammers. Indeed.

Pep

Can I assume our "swarm" party is off? Looks like BrianR is out and I don't know where that leaves everyone else. I tripped into Sanity's latest post and the commentary suggested that the entire crowd is getting ready to take that act over to Red State. Looks like us haters may go unchecked as we ravage the unsuspecting TH innocents.

Hey PPhil...

...if they fled to "redstate," then it would make an excellent analogy of the immigration problem....We invade their blogs with what they disagree and they can't handle it because We won't assimilate to their opinions. Fantastic!

PPhil

Great. Good news to hear they might take their carnival on the road. Good riddance.

WilliBeax

I think it's redstate.org but I'm not sure.

yo pepp

thanks for the url. when is your next thrilling chapter coming out? i miss the actions of dem der bad motorcycles (your mossad).
now i know how a one-arm wall paper hanger feels.
heh!heh!

WilliBeax

Hopefully I'll have the chapter up this coming weekend. Not too much time to work on it while working the last several days and tomorrow. I hope to get the next edition up by Sat/Sun.

Dang it Pepp!

I can't catch up with you creating new posts! :)

I have a feeling..

...the next Chapter of the chronicles of "Juliet Smith" won't be kind to me...[dum,dum,dum,dummmmm]

VADaddy

I've been a bit slower than usual here so you got time to catch up. It's a lot of chapters I know. And, I don't know how far you got.

JimmyCarter

Dum, da dum dum DA!

Well, we'll see what happens. One never knows what will come out of the Peppermint head.

crashed my business

now I am back working for someone else, less free time, plus a 50 hour week takes it out of me. But at least I am doing what I enjoy. refurbing used helicopters samller but a similar principle, RB probably has worked on a few of these or at least the military versions Kiowas. I have been lurking but too tired to comment most nights.

ch47jockey

Sorry to hear about your business. What a bummer.

I'm glad you are doing something you like though.
I know what you mean when you are working that many hours and getting too tired.

I've worked many 60 to 80 hour weeks in the past and there is no time but to go to bed and crash.

Good luck on the new job. Glad you are lurking. LOL

Off Topic

Found a new acronym for Shillary Klintonista. How about "Hilrya Rodhamovich Clintonov".

Good, no? :p)

Patriot 11C

As Shrillery claims to be a female, that would have to be Clintonova. Other wise excellent. The greatest part is that form of name was kept on during the Soviet commie era! She is certainly not able to hide her socialist totalitarian tendencies.
Heck! Maybe she could be persuaded to go to Russia and replace Putin?

Patriot

Love it. Great Marxist name for the Hitlary.

She is completely out of the closet with her commie/socialist agenda as of her last speech. We are headed for lots of trouble if she gains the WH.

Purplegimp

Well, Hillary is just about as evil as Putin. She'd make a good replacement.

Peppermint

The only problem I have with her replacing Putin is that the Russians have been through enough. They don't deserve going through it all again with her.
My blood runs ice cold every time I think about her getting the nomination, never mind winning the election.

Purplegimp

You and me both. Icy Hillary. Brr! It's too horrible to even think about her being in the WH.

Barbaric barbarism

Has anyone given any thought about where those words came from?
They came from the Berbers who were those ever so kindly Barbary Pirates who captured and sold into slavery Black Africans. Kind of an early version of today's islamoterrorists. They never give up.
Kind of ironic that the very people who gave us this word are the self same ones it describes.
Maybe we should thank for it?

Purplegimp

Yes, and those Barbarians attacking our ships back then. Jefferson had the guts to attack them and put them down.

It's been going on for centuries, this Islamic garbage. Some people, particularly the libs, think it all started yesterday.

Come and Take It

Peppermint when will those in the Lone Star State be given the chance to fight with the Patriots? We here in Alamoland are chomping at the bit.

Psalm23

Cool! The Patriots can use all the help they can get.

Peppermint

Heh, the east is fighting...The bunnies in Nevada are fighting too, we just had Obama butt ladin here spouting his garbage and thinking he's winning..do you know how many I talked to that didn't even know he was here? Most of them have the guns and the bikes!

RB

Love the Obama bin laden!
Check it out. I put up chapter 21 last night.
