Chicago Tea Party AAR

Thanks for stopping by the old Heartland blog. And thank you for stepping up when stepping up mattered. God bless you.

Nww re Chicago Tea PArty

Great job!!! I wish I could have attended the PArty down here, job and situation at home precluded me from going. I was an activist in college (yea I am a recovered Dem from the 60's) and the Tea PArtys bring back memories of being out there making a statement. I hope there are more in my area and that I will be able to participate in future

Nee sorry for typos

I have Parkinson's and sometimes my typing stinks, sorry for the errors! I usually end up hitting SEND b4 get to proof

There goes the old anonymity, Denise

You looked cold! HaHaHa! I told you that being unemployed would give you a chance to become an activist.

The Tea Party comment seems to have legs. When I saw the CNBC clip it struck me as a little hollow given that the cheering section was last years recipients of the $700 billion dollar "golden ticket".

I'm torn between Adam Smith and Madison on this subject. The focus on paying for your neighbors mortgage takes the focus off the constitution and gets down in the mud of democrat class warfare.

As I said, I'm torn, not so much on the issue, but on the message. This problem should have been left to the private sector. Government would probably have had to become involved given our current system but it should have been a secondary role. Senator DeMint proposed just that.

I do have a vested interest in not seeing my neighbors house auctioned at cents on the dollar. It kills my home value and standing real estate hurts my ability to sell.

Government intervention prevented our system from working. They have created a condition which sends the message to mortgage lenders that they don't have to work with their customers since Uncle will give them the money.

The message to those who are struggling with mortgages, no longer limited to flippers and variable rate buyers, but due to unemployment and falling home values is that foreclosure is their best option since devaluation is now putting 10 year homeowners upside down.

Government is the real enemy here, not our fellow citizens. You really can't blame a guy who is drowning for grabbing a life preserver.

You looked real good out there, Nee! Give'em H*ll! LOL! I may join you as soon as the global warming breaks.

Sarge...

Yes it was cold, and I did say nearly the same thing to the reporter about letting the private sector handle it!! I asked the "kid" when had spending gotten him where he wanted to be? When had spending money he didn't have work? It is the same thing- let the free market work!
I did forget to mention that we had "Sam Adams" gave a speech and it was darn good.
PS- Didn't even notice my name was on the video. Could you see the pix? I may have to fix that!

Kev

I'll keep you posted on new events...

I couldn't make it

to the Philly party, and evidently neither could the media. I've looked over the websites of the newspapers in Philly, DC, San Diego, and Ft Worth. I've only found mention of the tea party protests in the Ft Worth Star-Telegram, where it was one of the first 2 stories in the local section.

If you find stories about the protests, kick 'em to me for next Tuesday's Claw.

Nee

Imagine that...he left out your zings about him paying for other people's mortgages.

Way to go, shorty!

Nee

I did not make it to the San Diego one, but my friends went. They said there was about 350-400 people there. Maybe less.

Loved your interview.

I can't see your pictures that you added. :(

Nee

I see that Drudge is reporting on the St. Louis rally which was apparently well attended. I couldn't see the pictures you posted.

I have taken up the plight of the unemployed in CA in my new post. Stop by.

Nee!

Great face time on the tube, kiddo!

Nee

I checked the properties on your pics and found that they don't have a good URL which is why they can't be seen.

Thanks, Nee

I'm out in the NW suburbs, but we are in the process of moving our mother into assisted living this past week, so was unable to attend. However, I do plan on attending the July tea parties. I've been e-mailing and talking up the parties. I don't watch much TV, so I missed seeing you on the air. Sure hope you get your pictures up to get the full appreciation. We need the working class to turn out as much as possible to start drowning out the roof perchers and professional demonstraters bused in by the libs.

Nee

I can't see your pics. Check your URL.

Other than that, WELL DONE!
