Recycling

There are one big problem urban folks have with the type of recycling advocated in this article: the lack of space. When I had a house, I did what I could to keep stuff for reuse. I was soon over powered by the sheer volume of usefull material; so I had to get rid of some of it. Of course, as the old saw relates: as soon as I threw it out, I found a use for it. Now that I live in an apartment, forget it. Although I do keep stuff, just ask my daughter!

Another thing is with relatively inexpenive items, it costs more to fix them than it does to buy new ones. Thus, not all worn shoes soles are replaced; you get a new pair. (A variation on planned obsolescence.
