"Your honour, as other men I too must stand before my creator and give account of my actions.
When I joined the medical profession I swore an oath that I would first do no harm. You are telling me to withdraw the food and water from a patient, an action that falls under the category of harm.
This I cannot do.
Even if man-made laws allow, nay compel, this action I cannot obey them.
If I receive no justice in this life then I will look for vindication in the next.
