Heroes?

DO you remeber the story of the GI's caught in Yugoslavia that were eventually released when Jesse Jackson decided to make a trip on their behest. From what Iread, their vehicle was shot at but there was no penetration. I never did hear why they had strayed from the rest of the unit. As the story goes, they never fired one shot in retaliation or defense for themselves. When they were returned they were given a Heroes welcome and some medals. How were these guys heroes? Not only were they NOT heroes, they were cowards. That's what we seem to reward today. Heaven forbid we hurt their sensitivities.
