Evo Morales - Take a Good Look at the Name

Latin America

A bit of a rant, but basically you are absolutely right. Morales "nationalized"(expropriated, in our terms)Brazil's refineries in Bolivia and Lula was silent. In fact, the Brazilian military moved troops to the Bolivian border and Lula found out about it from the media. Although Lula has moved more slowly than Chavez (Venezuela),Lula is close to obtaining a second term in Brazil and that is when we should see him moving more quickly. He has had to move more slowly because the Brazilian Armed Forces are the largest and most powerful in Latin America (for now, but Chavez is trying to take that honor with his military purchases). Kirchner (Argentina) has been moving a little more quickly, but quietly. The Argentines (who changed their president 5 times in two weeks) have been unusually quiet also. The loss of Peru and Mexico has also slowed things down a bit, but only a bit.

People, Americans in particular, need to pay more attention to the Foro de Sao Paulo, founded by Cuba, and which the leaders of Argentina, Venezuela, Bolivia, and just about every other leftist leader belong. Google Foro de Sao Paulo and see for yourselves.

Another one to watch is the World Social Forum, which groups YOUNG leftist/Marxist from all countries (the operative word here being YOUNG). This group's basic agenda is: save the world from the evil pollutants. But, in fact, it is an US bashing fest. For example, according to them, the US is the worse pollutant on the planet because it exploits its oil, despite the fact that the last two forums have been held in Brazil and Venezuela, oil producing countries. They are also big on how the US is damaging the ecology on the planet, totally ignoring the fact that Chavez wants to build an oil pipeline through the Amazon, the oxygen lung of America (the continent).

Attention must be paid to Latin America, before it's too late.
