Crosspatch, you’re one of my favorite commentators on StrataSphere, probably because I agree with almost everything you say, and you say it so well. Today, in your reply to “sophiesmom,” you gave a good example of what I think is causing a lot of the dissent between “creationists” and “evolutionists.” I totally believe in Intelligent Design. I don’t know how anyone could NOT, given how much more we know about the structure of a cell than was known in Darwin’s day. I also totally believe in evolution, in the sense of adaptation of species, as you described with your example of polar bears. NOBODY could dispute that; I mean, we see it happening right before our eyes. The difference is, I (and all creationists) believe that in the beginning, God created all life, including human life. I believe that our long climb up to the progress we “enjoy” today began with a created being, not with an amoeba in a swamp.

Thanks

Well, thank you for your comment. I don't log in here much but maybe that will change soon.

I had a much longer response planned but I am limited to 2000 characters in a comment and I really don't want to make a blog posting on the subject.

I will simply say that there is no point to arguing a point of faith with a point of logic. Logic can never win against a point of faith because faith always wins ... if one remains faithful.

Internet Blogs

I normally do not occupy or visit the crepuscular world of Internet blogs (who has the time these days), but I can truly and honestly state without any dissent I hope from either side sociopolitical and/or philosophical spectrum, that the opinions on these blogs regardless of affiliation represent the most uninformed, irrational and uneducated opinions (poorly informed anyway) that are so biased (all opinions are by definition biased), any credibility is impossible.

Hence the fact they are blogs -- and not say the NY Times or New Republic publications, to give a nod to pinheads on both sides of the equation.

The opinion pieces I read reflects nothing more than incredibly childlike rants from a soapbox that refuses to entertain any balanced approach that might challenge the writer's thoughts -- without any regard for commonsense or logic I might add.

The old adage that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing has truly found fertile ground on the Internet unlike any other technology before in human history.

Thank you, and have a wonderful and delusional life.
