A Hard and Well Deserved Lesson

A Kerrydian Slip?

You mentioned "Pelosi rose".

A new word has been coined

Not really certain Kerrydian would be correct, possible Kerryian. As for you comment, I would respond to it the same as I would a comment from the real Jimmy Carter. HUH??? Perhaps if I used the word 'ascended' instead or 'rose' I could have prevented being tagged with a Kerry reference. But as this was an off the cuff blog that I wrote extemporaneously (there's a 25 cent word as my grandfather would say) I perhaps missed the better choice of words. Other than a poor selection of the verb to describe the new speakers upward move, what did you think of the rest of the piece?

As to your post...

...the only thing with which I disagree is term limits. I think that can be accomplished at the polls as evidenced on November 7.

Just writing extimp....extemo...off the cuff.

Term limits

We can agree to disagree but I put this to you. There are a great many professional politicians on both sides who we can hope they would be removed via the vote. But they are so entrenched within their constituency that they become an immovable albatross around the collective populace's neck. Chafee, an awful republican was indeed ousted. Ted Kennedy, an equally awful democrat remains. If we are going to term limit the highest office in the land and we are going to term limit every office from Governor down to city council (finally in NYC), then we should term limit all politicians. This is just my humble opinion.

I agree...

...what's good for one position should be good for all. The advantages of term limits would be the regular changes of and short term limits on leadership positions, Sheets Byrd to mention another.

Are you sure you're a yankee?

Thank you for a good laugh

I am a yankee by geography and a New York Mets fan by birth. Based on your reference to the 'Conscience of the Congress'....
Sorry, I had to stop typing to wipe the tears of laughter out of my eyes so I could see the screen.
I hope your screen name is not your real name. While you seem to be an individual with intelligence I wouldn't want to picture you fending off a giant rabbit with a boat oar. And if you get that reference I know you're memory is as long as mine.

Mr. Carbone....

...click on my screen name and read my biography and my original post titled,"Welcome Back, Carter"

I'll see ya 'round Townhall.
