good job

I was shocked to hear "drill baby drill" it was ridiculous. This "mavrick" has been in the senate for 20 years and has not really dont anything for drastic change. He may have promoted some bills that his party didnt agree with, but he still voted with Bush 90 percent of the time....his words not mine.

The republican party had 8 years....you lost, give the new guy a chance... forclosures, war in iraq, deficits, oil prices, wall street, loss of world credibility....... thanks for the 8 years ....im done

I hear you.....

"Drill Baby Drill...."

Embarrassing, and I agree; Shocking to hear such misguided and willful ignorance by the crowd at the GOP convention. Sad as well.

Oh yeah I am voting for the 'new guy'... Amazing how McCain has gotten a free pass from both the left and right for his role in the S & L scandals of the 80's, which was made possible by Congressmen like himself by voting to deregulate our financial markets- a decision that directly led to the current mess in the (now) global financial system...

I thought "Don't Tread On Me" was what lay at the heart of American conservatism... not deregulated free markets, The Patriot Act, or forcing religion onto the state, instead of separation of the two...And most sickening of all (especially these days) is the adoption of these rigid 'free market' laissez faire economic policies by (quasi)'conservatives...'

George Washington was bitterly opposed to international 'free trade' and unregulated business policies; He described them as being "Un-American" because in his opinion 'free trade' would benefit the wealthy over Average Americans by such a large degree it would create huge class divisions- in a nation that wasn't supposed to have separate classes.

Washington was probably thinking about that "All Men Are Created Equal" idea he'd just waged a war over to make it a reality...

Foreclosures, War in Iraq (and Afghanistan), deficits, oil prices, Wall Street, loss of world credibility- health care, tuition increases, job losses, a grossly expanded federal govt. thats far more inefficient than ever before (despite spending record amounts adjusted for inflation)-

Yup... I'm with you, buddy!
