"Physics for Future Presidents"
Rick you are pot on with this column. I have been reading Professor Richard A Muller who is a cautious and thoughtful physicist who worries very much about the potential for global warming. He is also concerned that the discussion continue without exaggeration. Here are some quotes from Muller's book "Physics for Future Presidents" which is also a text for his wildly popular course by the same name at UC Berkley:
"The subject of global warming is not made easier by abundant exaggeration...." (p344)
"An Inconvenient Truth" is powerful propaganda, but as all propaganda there is a danger. (p299)
"Climate has a variable and random component and alarmists might lose their acolytes if additional warming doesn't continue in the near term." (p345)
