The Correct Term Is Transplant!

Transplants move to our area so that they can be big fish in a small pond. They are kind of like the hobos that your grandmother warned you about, except they come with money in hand. They join all the area activities to make themselves feel like they are part of the community. And they are. In doing this, they meet all of the other transplants around. The rest of us are too busy working to participate in such things. Then you get groups of people who take advantage of these new "locals". They sell them a doctored history of the area to gain sympathy, support, or money. The transplants all latch on to every word and then propagate this new history until it is accepted by all as truth. I can't tell you how upsetting it is to have a transplant start telling you a doctored history about things that happened in your own family as if this is a story detached from your own existence. And, yes, they all show up here saying "what a beautiful place", and then proceed to make it just like the places they came from. They are like the Horde, pillaging and raping the land as they go.
