It might help if you were more specific. The only gas uranium reactor I know about is the uranium hexafluoride type and it was canned as the gas was dangerous for it's corrosiveness made it hard to contain and handle.

The HTGR reactors are the successors and they are very safe and green reactors that don't require water for coolant.
