History of staged provocations by U.S.
I liked your comments on the staging of provocations. According to journalist Robert Stinnett, who served aboard the USS San Jacinto with the first president Bush, there were several instances of provocations to get things started:
Pearl Harbor. See my next blog for the details.
In the Mexican War, President Polk provoked Mexico, Stinnett was told,
As did President Lincoln at Fort Sumter on South Carolina militia.
It was used in the Spanish-American War.
It was used in Vietnam to get the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution.
Yes, I did like your comments, especially about my medication, which happens to be Kentucky bourbon. Here in North Carolina the state sells the the whiskey and never on Sunday morning. It is easier to find a church.

Provocations
I get all kinds of comments from all kinds of nuts regarding ridiculous conspiracy theories. Mor often than not, in Uncle Sam's case, the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. To cry conspiracy gives our gov far too much credit in most cases. Incompetence and happen-stance are more likely the causes.
