TEDDY ROOSEVELT, OBAMA AND THE NOBEL PRIZE (WITH A POSTSCRIPT ON WOODROW WILSON)

Nobel

The award is also used to push a thumb in the eyes of the U.S., when it acts in its perceived national interests.

I.e. President Carter's (i.e. the man partially responsible for Mugabe and the Mullahs) Nobel.

Re Roosevelt Obamy and Peace Prize

Speak softly and carry a toothpick just about says all you need to know about Obama! Excellent post Dumbing down has infected our schools, politics, UN and now the Nobel Committee!!! Whats next?

KEV: THE AGE OF DELIRIOUS

Doesn't it stand to reason that this nonsensical and dangerous approach to issues of war and peace would come from the first president born in the radical "make love not war" Sixties? The good news is that Obama represents the complete discrediting of that childish world view. After four tragic years of this foolish man the Age of Delirious will be over.

League of Nations et al

Sorry, Apollo, I don't agree that the League of Nations was a "good thing". Like the UN, it's aim was to diminish the sovereignty of individual nations predicated on Wilson's Progressive philosophy, putting backward dictatorships on an even level with advanced, free nations.
Read "Woodrow Wilson and the Roots of Modern Liberalism" by Ronald Pestritto.

It certainly not coincidental that the only American Presidents to win the Nobel Peace Prize were leftist statists. If you take out Roosevelt's foreign policy, you will find he was a leftist populist in domestic policy just as much as Wilson, Carter, and Obama. And a hawkish foreign policy is not necessarily contradictory to leftist governments - see Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, et al.

COUNTRYMAN

The point that I made was that Wilson and Roosevelt were given the Nobel Prize on what they actually accomplished (however right or wrongheaded) as opposed to Obama's good intentions and hoped for achievements in the future.
