Obama's Financial Follies

Colorado Mike: thanks for a thought-provoking blog. I especially like the point that income is not "distributed", it is "earned". You mention Dr Sowell-- he's our favorite columnist on TH, we've read many of his books, and consider him the smartest man in America. I think every person going to Washington should read his "Basic Economics" book (as a start). While they are reading, they should read the Constitution, wouldn't that be a change.
I am so depressed over the thought of the US turning to socialism, what a disaster that will be. I simply cannot understand why the democrats want to socialize this country, when it is capitalism that has made it great and has created the prosperity that they themselves enjoy. Even though they may be power hungry, are they that misguided, are they actually evil, that they want to subject us to the failed socialist/communist experiment?

BTW, we lived in the mountains west of Boulder for 5 years, then a job transfer moved us east. We always intended to go back to beautiful Colorado, those mountains are heavenly country!

I agree that Dr. Sowell is very bright - he would get my vote for President. I know Obama is very tuned in to issues of exploitation and oppression - he has hung around communists and those who believe capitalism is fundamentally unfair. I think that is his world view.
