Like expanded S-CHIP medical coverage and "free" government-subsidized 401(k)s, this *seems* harmless, until you consider the political motivation behind it. I'd have more respect for the Dems if they had the balls to de-fund the war instead of attempting every imaginable backdoor method to undermine it and our troops. But hoping for some measure of respectability from that lot is asking an awful lot.
