Who Is This Ron Paul?

A lot more different than military use.

Ron Paul is vastly different than the other candidates in that he firmly believes that unless the Constitution authorizes something, that the federal government has no authority to pass laws regarding that "something". If there is a need to have the federal government regulate a certain area that is not in the constitution right now, then pass an amendment to it. As it stands right now, both political parties wield all sorts of power that is not authorized. From administrative agencies essentially passing "legislation" which is a responsibility of congress, to entire departments which have no constitutional backing, we have quite a mess.

No, Ron Paul actually believes in the oath he takes to uphold the constitution unlike most people which see it as a formality.

As to the war issue, it makes a lot of sense that us sticking our noses into everyone else's business makes us a big inviting target.

Pre-emptive strike..

is just newspeak for "starting a war."

The doublespeak "War is Peace" is equally nonsensical.

We are now doing exactly what Japan was doing immediately prior to WWII. We are marching into other countries, ousting rulers, and installing puppet governments that are sympathetic to our interests.

This is not the America that I love.

what

That is the most nonsensical conclusion I have ever heard of.

How about we just let Bush become emperor. Hate to have to rely on congress to live up to their responsibilities.

Am I missing bad satire or something?

Yea, like his view of the cause of terrorism. No doubt you'll get plenty of pressure to change your mind.

Although we differ in some our perspectives on the sagasity of Ron Paul's campaign platform I take issue of this quoted part of your critique.
WHY, pray tell, are we there now? Do our mercenary forces know what they are fighting for?
Do you concur with our current president and the neo-con crowd as to what a desirable "end" is in Iraq? What is your opinion of how and when we should end our aggessive emperialist nation building in Iraq?
I respect your opinion but who, pray tell, do you champion over Ron Paul as a desirable president for the next term? I would like to critique your choice!

Ron Paul will win becaus of the people

The first time I heard about this looney Ron Paul anti war nut I was disgusted. Disgusted enought to look at his website and read all of his positions and look at his record.

They speak for them selves he will save the Republic. I voted for Dole, Bush, Bush since I was able to vote and now I will vote for RON PAUL. He is the only one who is for the constitution. NO socialized medicine, NO Gun Control, NO Debt spending.

I now donate to him volunteer to call people with my phone on his behalf and am writing letters to people in IOWA and NEW HAMPSHIRE in order to get this guy elected.

Rudy is in Drag
Romney is the Republican John Kerry
Thompson's voting record contridicts itself.
McCain is for amnesty

Ron Paul

Wow, the Kool-Aid drinkers have come out! Is the moon full?

I am amazed by all of you who think we shouldn't have invaded Iraq. Having 20/20 hindsight, it was an absolutely brilliant strategic move, because it defined Iraq as the international battlefield, where large numbers of Islamic extremists would (and did) come to fight (and die) for their cause. Yes, there will be some that make it to America to carry out their attacks against civilian targets, but how many thousands of these radicals have we killed without endangering American civilians?

You all whine about us not having found weapons of mass destruction, but there were other valid reasons why we went to Iraq. Remember, Saddam Hussein was paying the families of suicide bombers who attacked Israel, our ally. A terrorist training camp was found in Iraq. Twelve tons of partially enriched uranium was found in Iraq. And horrific crimes had been committed against the people of Iraq.

As a conservative, I agree with Ron Paul on many things, but his inability to understand those simple points tells me that he is, like the Democrats, either unwilling or incapable of providing for this country's security. Each of the other candidates has positions that I don't agree with, but at this point in time, national security is of the utmost importance.

That is why I will not vote for Ron Paul.
