If you take the total payroll received by all women and divide it by the total number of women employed, and then do the same for men, you will arrive at the statistic that women on average earn 77% of what men do. However, more women work part time, shorter hours, in "clean" jobs, and in "safe" jobs. It's an apples to oranges comparision and everybody with a brain knows it. Otherwise men would be unemployable. If the argument is between what the market actually does and what some lefty thinks it should do, I'll side with the market every time.

Most Lefties I know are not really willing to take the time or the effort which might cause someone to dislike them or take time to explain their position. The republican party is just as sound bite oriented as the democrats, especially in 2004. Alot of what Kerry said was in the debates taken out of context, whether you like him or not(note: I didn't vote for him). It's a problem in general with politics though, its easier to get people to vote on emotion than intellect. The dems and the reps just do it using different mechanisms.
