Free Speech or Thought Police?

Thought Police

I enjoyed your article.

I too have been banned from Red State for discussing how there seems to be no difference between the parties any longer.

I have Concluded that Red State no longer represents Republican Values but Red China Values instead.

They and others like them are a cancer to the Republican party and simply need to be removed.

They are the Quacks and the fringe and we need to take our GOP back from them.

Thought police in both parties

Great article Noel! I see we are neighbors ( No. Co. San Diego ) so at least we're not alone in feeling "left behind" by the elephants in the room. As Reagan used to say when asked why he left the Democrat party, " I didn't leave it, it left me." That's exactly how I felt when Bush the 1st took office. The "mainstream Repubs" are in reality " go slow Democrats." I changed me affiliation years ago for that very reason. It's all about getting elected and power. As time goes on, Lord Acton's famous quote concerning power has even deeper meaning than ever before. Sorry but I don't see it getting any better...there's way too many idiots slopping at the government trough to even slow the onslaught. The "dream" was just that...a dream.

Free speech is alive and well

The editors at Redstate own their printing press and they exercised their free speech rights in banning your post. You are (or were) a guest there and, by violating their rules (no newbie posts about Paul), you peed on their carpet with your entry. Like it or not, the Redstate folks are strongly opposed to Paul's views, and the threads became overrun with Ronulans, which became an all-consuming task at monitoring.

for Bird Dog: No Free Speech at Redstate

My first and, apparently last, article at Redstate was NOT about the forbidden Ron Paul. It was about the sad state of conservatism in the U.S. today. So, yes, Redstate DOES ban free speech. They ban what they do not want to hear, their backyard or not.
