Palin's Apology Shows Where America Shops

...Viet Nam. We were never told we were fighting for "Americas Freedom".

Nope, we were told we was fightin' against the spread of Com-Un-Is-Um.

And believe me once you were there, for whatever reasons lead you to be there, you found a better reason to fight and it didn't have one damm thing to to with communism.

What reasons did you have for fighting? Also, unless you are there, people don't know how tough it was. How did you make it through?

And btw, have heard soldiers whose recorded comments basically stated what I said. And back then, fighting against Communism was seen as protecting America's freedom.

...ever being told it was for preseving Americas freedom, now you could make the case I guess that the implication was there, but no can't remember ever being sold that freedom line. Now don't get me wrong there was the "our South Vietnamese freedom loving brothers in the struggle, yak, yak, yak..." But very little if any serious reference to Mom and Apple Pie.

The "how do you make it through" question was to me the oddest you would hear, and do still I guess. I always thought the answer is so obvious, what exactly are your choices?

Reasons? Like I said, what got everyone there was an assortment of things. What got everyone out of there was each other.

Each other is what it always seems to boil down to.
