But back when Palestine was an English protectorate Mencham Begin, as head of the Stern Gang (or one of those terrorist organizations) put together a hit that murdered a UN observer, because they thought he was an English spy. Apparently everyone in Palestine knew who the murderers were. The Prime Minister, forget his name, used the incident to terminate the Stern Gang. He said if Begin would unwind the group he wouldn't prosecute the murderers. Begin, of course, later became Prime Minister of Israel, one of three terrorists to hold that position.
