Teaching To The Test IS Teaching

Thanks for sharing this story from the Times. I don't normally read that rag so I would have missed it. I wish that teacher in DC the best of luck but like you I doubt it will succeed.

I especially liked your added paragraph. No one can teach a specialty with a general education degree...at least not well.

Good article. You put your finger on it - you have to hold teachers and administrators accountable. At heart, teachers are liberal because they always blame someone else(parents, society, etc) when their students don't perform. So of course they hate standardized tests because it exposes their failure to educate. Which isn't their goal anyway - like you say they just want to indoctrinate students with the liberal agenda.
