Texas Primary Response and Gloomy Prediction for Obama!

Can tell this is your 1st Prec. Conv.

It is very common for everyone at the Prec. Conv. to go to the County Conv. Some Prec. only have 1 person show, we had 8 but could have seated 16, so each vote counts as 2.

You might want to attend your Prec. Committee meetings going on 3 days prior to the County Convention. Then you should line up enough votes before the County Conv.(from other prec and your own) so you can be assured of going to the State Convention, then do it all over again for National.

Also one of the reasons the County Conv. last so long is because of ALL the Prec. Resolutions. But you will learn, the same way I did 20 years ago, there is a Machine in our Party and I wish you all the best as you work your way up the ladder.

1st, not last!

Thanks for your advice, LittleL...see you in Houston or Minneapolis???

Yeah, precinct chair showed up with one of those "I'm-an-activist, can-you-tell" lists of like 17 resolutions e-mailed out to everyone in the State. Ugh. I was the 'big mouth' present, so I volunteered to read each resolution, and when I came to this page I pointed out that several were basically duplications of others' resolutions, so could we skip some? "No, no--read 'em all" was the reply. On about #16 of 17 someone asked if we had to keep going on this one list. I said, "That's what I was talking about, people."

Democracy--"rule by the mob." No kidding. Welcome to politics, huh?
