N.O.D. … NOT ONE DIME

EXACTLY!

NOTHING to the Left Coast.

Illegals

Illegals are probably costing California most of its deficit for medical and social program costs and so forth. Plus, they are not paying any state income tax.

If us "ignerunt" slobs know

how to manage our finances, how come these geniuses don't? Could it be that they're actually stoooooooopid? I would say yes. Stupid, stupid, stupid. They also live in some nether world disconnected from reality and responsibility. I don't feel one bit sorry for those that keep putting the wastrels and bleeding hearts in office. I'm with you. Not one dime.

Good work as always G92

Garnet

Not just "Not one dime",but "NOT ONE MOTHER(@C&ING DIME". THIS is what you get with unfettered liberalism, and a RINO governator. Poor Brian, and the 6 other conservatives out there.Time to man the lifeboats.

Garnet

If you take a look at the propositions which were offered to us, they weren't really revenue enhancemnent vehicles so much as revenue shifting from one area to another, and more borrowing (from future revenues) with the exception of 1-F which was to disallow pay raises for legislators in deficit years.

The majority of us don't want more revenue to be generated anyway, what we want is for Scaratomaote to live within its means. No New Taxes, Fees, or revenue adjustments.
Thee options now are only for the State to steal from the cities and counties, and that is what will happen unless the proactive approach the cities and counties are taking works out. Not much hope for it but....

Garnet

By the way, not only do I not want Sacratomatoe to take my money, they don't need yours either.

Patrick

SOme Conservative legislators and honest analysts have suggested the Illegal Economic Invaders cost this state as much as $40,000,000 every year.

Garnet

You nailed it cold. The cost of the illegals is prohibitive, especially considering how many are involved in gangs and who knows what else. Combined with the refusal of many to assimilate, and it becomes even more galling.

Guess those intelligent left coasters haven't learned about cost-benefit analysis yet.

Sgt

You do know there's a bag limit on them don't you?

Garnet

If a rat is smart enough to abandon a sinking ship, the course for all SMART Californians is CRYSTAL CLEAR!

Whatever happened

to the rumors that California was going to fall into the Pacific and Nevada was going to be selling beach front property? A great article and I agree with you. N.O.D! Hey, that could be a rallying slogan for the whole country, not just the left coast.

N.O.D.?

Doesn't seem likely that you or I, Garnett92, will be ASKED whether we wanna help out. Remember, we don't PAY taxes. The gubmint TAKES taxes.

Garnet

My first thought after reading was that California could N.O.D OFF.

Great read and analysis of the situation out in fantasy land. Guess what has happened to them relative to illegal aliens is the natural consequence of ignoring an invasion. Nah, our fellow citizens can't be that stupid can they?

My apologies to ALL

I've not been receiving e-mail notifications for the last two days - don't know why - am receiving other e-mails as usual. I've got a e-mail in to Chris at TH to see if it was anything on their end. Otherwise, sorry to take so long to respond to your comments.

Thanks for visiting, Gunny

All we can do is make noise about it - damn little we can do to stop D'ohbama from sending our hard-earned bucks to one of his biggest supporting states. They got themselves into the septic mess, let them shovel their way out.

Right Patrick - and if they're

doing the things that Americans won't do, why is the unemployment so high among legal citizens?

The libs live in a world of unicorns

and rainbows - or at least they thought they did - until the stuff hit the fan. Now taxpayers are leaving in droves while more illegals are sneaking in. That situation simply can't go on. In a few years, there'll be fewer taxpayers than illegals - that ought to be an awakening for them.

Agreed brian, there are a few decent

folks still hanging on out there (Sue is another) and fighting the good fight but they're badly outnumbered.

It never works - all of the cities in the worst trouble are democrat-run cities. When will the inert among us wake up?

Right, I know that I oversimplified

boaz, apparently you're in CA too? The real key is greatly reduced spending. Good luck getting the libs to cut loose some of their feel-good programs and cut back on supporting illegals. That's gonna be a tough sell.

Surely you jest, Sarge

They've probably never considered that costs and benefits could be used in the same sentence. More like "give them the benefit, damn the cost."

And La Raza knows that as soon as D'ohbama passes an amnesty law they'll become voters and can vote those pesky gringos out of office. Ought to be a real fight out there between the latinos and the gays as to who owns California.

And they're leaving, just like the rats

The liberals have totally ruined one of the best places in the country to live - beautiful views, seashore, mountains, I love the San Diego area especially, but the libs have screwed up the cost of living there - highest taxes in the country, land values throught the roof, etc. It just doesn't make economic sense for a non-millionaire to live there anymore.

Garnet

Why can't Obama's hollywierd friends donate to and support their liberal utopia.

Yeah GunnyCee, it should be

a national position. Don't know about the falling into the Pacific thing - I keep waiting for it to happen (jus kiddin). I really do like CA, it's the idiots that have taken control that I don't like. Besides, if CA did experience a big quake, just think what that would do to the national economy - disaster.

I know drpete, it's not like we're

going to have a choice BUT we were able to derail Bush's amnesty plan via a groundswell of negative activity - maybe we can at least minimize the damage if enough of us yell NOD!

The good guys DID nod off and let

the liberals take over years ago, Mrs. AL. As you say, they were infiltrated and before they knew it, they were toast. As long as they keep voting a**holes into office, they get what they deserve. Remember "What Ye Vote, So Shall Ye Reap" - that's right from the Bible.

Mrs. AL, I posted a reply to your

comment already but it seems to have disappeared so I'll try again - re: nodded off - that's what happened to CA, the good folks out there did nod off and let the rascals infiltrate and soon the rascals were in charge - and lookie what a bang-up job they've done.

No way Donnie - it's working out jus

fine for them. They've got plenty of the cheap labor to maintain their estates and staff their mansions and we fools keep paying hard-earned bucks to see them act like they're someone else, read from a script and make funny remarks. They don't have a REAL job and their accountants make sure that they don't pay taxes. What's not to like if you're a Hollyweird celeb.

BTW, I really liked the comment from your broker when asked what he was buying, "canned goods and ammo." GREAT!

Garnet

I wonder how much California could pay off some debt through shipping at least HALF of it's illegal population.

They ARE, Donnie.

That's why the President was at the Beverly Hilton. It was a fundraiser.

They probably wouldn't even

have to ship half of them out, Eric. I'll bet if they captured and deported 25%, another 25% would leave as quick as they could.

Garnet,

Your essay articulates and reflects the feelings and thoughts of millions of Americans. Literally millions. But like the bailouts, it really doesn’t mater what you and I think. His electoral votes in California must and will be saved.

However, he better get that value added tax (aka federal sales tax) enacted, or start printing more money soon.

INTHENOW, I'm also hearing the buzz

about the VAT, but there's one BIG problem for D'ohbama if he implements it - that will be how to convince the current non-tax-paying public (the ones that he promised wouldn't be paying any more taxes) how the higher prices on EVERYTHING is not the equivalent of a tax. It would be a sticky sell. Unless the federal withholding were eliminated, the VAT on top of everything else would cause a real outcry from much of the country. Of course, he's running out of options on how to finance his spending spree.

Garnet

I’d trade a VAT for income tax any day. But that ain’t going to happen. The IRS is Obama’s hammer and the bedrock for his class warfare strategy. Not to mention a large block of federal government workers employed by the IRS. Nope! Obama will become a Republican before he gives up the IRS.

Here in Europe the VAT is called IVA...in addition to an income tax. The tax ranges from 18 to 22 percent, depending on the item. It’s coming to America; I just don’t know how he intends to sell it. Perhaps Team “O” is testing the waters now.

Great article

mr.POTOTUShead is definitely trying to figure out how to sell the VAT. I forget what the 'feel good' word he's using, but it's the only way they can think of to finance UHC. Between cap and trade and VAT, the IRS will be simplified. It will be a one question postcard. "How much did you earn? Send it in."

I also heard the governator is trying to decide which to do first; fire all the fire fighters or do away with welfare programs.

INTHENOW, how prevalent is the VAT

in Europe - I know that the UK has it - but who else? And 18 to 22% HOLY SH*T - what is the total tax burden on something like a digital camera in the $200 (before taxes) price range?

Thanx MD/MG, D'ohbama is going to

have a tough sell on a VAT - especially after July 4 when (I hope) we've had 2-3 million out at the Tea Parties. Especially to the "poor" who don't now pay a federal income tax. He would have to give them a sizeable "rebate" to offset the effect of a VAT - which whould be regressive for the po-folks.

I think that Ahhhnold is toast out in lala-land anyway. He can't fire firefighters or police (as he threatened) - the natives would go ballistic. And it seems that there's little he can do except cut spending - which the legislature prolly won't accept - he's toast.

Not One Dime!

Right on, Garnet! The State of California is the mirror image of where the entire nation is heading under this whacked out leadership, from the present to CONgress. So nice prezbo and flmo are in NY for date night, at a cost to US taxpayers of about $300,000. He did kick in for the price of first class airfare and probably picked up the check for dinner and the Broadway show. How long before the scales fall from the eyes of the MSM ....

Every day brings us closer, Dawn

but I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't believe that the MSM will ever really take him to task for his actions. That would require them to admit that they were wrong to shield him from all negative information for so long.

Dawndawn

$300,000 on us to take his old lady out - What's to whine about?

That's only about $2.57 per household - just add it to the $546,668 tab he's already handed you.

Saltwater, D'ohbama could have

just taken M to Nadine's Grits an Greens and saved the taxpayers a lot of money.

Garnet92

Lame Heads R Us in CA. Yes, we are in the dumper and continue to spiral downward. They can't save $0.10, let alone any dollars.

And Arnold will not take out any budget money for the illegals. Yes, they make the budget! Right on!

Maybe if they let Prop 187 stand, we might not be in this mess, but that was deemed unconstitional. So, we continue to give money to the illegals. The PROP was known as "Save Our State."

Sorry, we deserve to file bankruptcy and deal with the consequences. Of course no one is claiming to have been a part of this at all. I guess all that money spent itself.

Sue, I know that we all feel for you

and other "good" Californians. The road to ruin was indeed paved by the finding on Prop. 187. Just think of what CA's economic situation would be now if you weren't supporting all of those illegals. If we could "earmark" bailout funds to conservative Californians, we'd do it.
